Problem installing Logos 4 on Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) computer

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and I have difficulties installing Logos 4. When I use the installation DVD, I receive an error message stating there is something wrong with the installation package (Error code 2203). I downloaded the setup file, but when I execute it, I receive a Runtime Error message: “This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.” Is there something I do wrong? There was no problem installing it on my previous XP Pro computer.

I do have Administrator rights.

Not sure what's going on but I can tell you that I have L4 on a Win 7/64 system that I built and it's working flawlessly and I had no problems installing it. The problem is with something else.

You need to completely remove the folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Logos4 and re-run the setup file you downloaded (do not use Admin elevation).

I'd also like you to setup permanent logging Diagnostic Logging. If there are any problems upload the logs as per Uploading Logs.

NB. as you already have an L4 installation there are other alternatives at http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers

It might be a problem with access rights to the %TEMP% folder. To test this:

Go to the Start menu and type %TEMP% in the box.
A folder (probably called Temp) should appear. If so, click on it to open the folder.
Then right-click somewhere in the folder and choose New, and choose any of the document types that are listed (such as Text Document)
Let us know what happens

If this works, then access rights are not the problem.
