- Many (not all) of the images that are in there are nice and useful.
- Of course, more is always better. However, keeping the bar high wrt the quality of images included is important. I don't think you want this degenerating into yet-another-Bible-clipart collection. It seems to me that keeping this resource valuable (i.e. not exhausting its purpose) would have to be a continual effort. I've always loved the Holman Book of Biblical Charts, Maps, and Reconstructions...and have used them extensively in my teaching. Of course, its on prepub as part of the Holman collection. It seems like possibly with the addition of Holman and other similar resources to the Logos "arsenal" another "in-house" developed resource of the same genre might be unnecessary.
- Somewhat related to comment #2...not to presume that I know where Logos' (as a company) strengths lie...but when I look at the things that go into the Logos value proposition, you've got two primary facets, 1) Content and 2) Tools for managing/manipulating content. On #1, Logos has and does excel at getting abundant print content into digital format. Logos also does well (and continues to improve) with providing the tools ala #2. So...Logos' strengths appear to be...getting the content digitized in a usable fashion (e.g. interlinking, etc.) and building tools for efficient search, organziation, maniuplation and visualization of resource data. I may be missing something, but this resource doesn't seem to cater to / leverage those strengths.
- It seems like the purpose for a resource like this is twofold (with some overlap)...1) It's yet another visualization tool for sifting through and organizing all of the data that the Bible contains (of course in this case - it isn't exactly configurable)...so valuable for study purposes 2) A resource for use in lesson preparation (i.e. teaching aid). For this resource to be good, does one goal need to supercede another? Just a question.
You should have a beta version of the Logos Bible Software Infographics resource. What do you think? Good idea? Enough topical coverage, or should we have more? Are they okay for PowerPoint, or do we need to customize them even further for that format?

I have sent an image to powerpoint. I don't think that I'd ever use this feature. Copy and paste works fine.

I also tried Logos Bible Software Infographics that I can see in Phils screen dump and that yields nothing... is this something that was included as part of the orginal downloads or something added later as an update and that I would not pick up since I have synch turned off because it is not working properly for me because of timezone issues ... I'm clutching at straws here as to what's going on because I can not see this or timelines for that matter.....

I found it, Andrew. There's a depiction of Herod's Temple on the Home Page today which has LBSI in the lower right corner. When you click on it, sure enough, you get a larger image which has "Overview" at the top. If you click on that you get all of the images.
I have a suggestion regarding two of these. It has two images comparing the New Jerusalem to the size of the United States (almost identical). The better comparison would be to the size of the Roman Empire of the time.

There is a useful chart of biblical units and measurements. For the time being this will have to suffice. I would hope that the Weights and Measures function of 3.0 will be included in future versions.

There is also an interesting image of Hezekiah's seal, but I'm wondering whether that is the clearest image you can get since I can't read the inscription.

I have it on my DVD install. I have no menu appear on right-click. I can't copy them either.
They seem helpful for powerpoint, but some of them aren't the right aspect and some of them are too specific for some general use...but that's ok.

Do I have a bug? I have Infographics, and I actually have Beta 2 now, and I still can't right click on any of the graphics, let alone send to PowerPoint.

I just love the Infographics. I have had only a short amount of time to play with it this evening, but throughly enjoy it. I love the graphics and the ease of right-clicking to save or to send to PowerPoint. I did just a quick search for "Herod's Temple," and loved the results! Thanks so much for this addition. It will definitely add in my personal study, as well in my preparation to teach!

One thing that I forgot to mention, but it would seem like, if you had the table of contents opened, and you had a graphic highlighted in the left pane, by pressing the down arrow, you would go to the next graphic. However, instead you went down a bit on the page in the right pane. Oops! I just found out that it does work this way in the Infographics. It was when I was in the 1000 Images, that this did not work.

My thoughts (now that i actually HAVE this) is favorable....I'd use it.
My suggestion would be to have more libraries available for purchase, and to make sure that the functions we've talked about work.
Nice job overall.
Edited to add: This is a REALLY nice feature! it works like a charm with the drag fwd drag backward feature....very nice.

Bob, I have the resource, but right clicking does nothing. No menu appears. It doesn't matter where I click on the screen: graphic, title, ToC, etc.

Got them on my DVD install and just found it a short time ago. Like the images, more would be nice. Plan to look closer to give more feed back.

That's a bug. You should see the right-click options on people graphs and other places, but it's broken in "media resources", which is how we display the infographics.
I discovered this resource initially when one appeared on the Home section. Nice. They would be greatly helpful. As noted here the right click does nothing, so I was going to ask about that but a search on "infograhics" brought up this thread instead.
Also no Right Click.
But CTRL-C and paste works.

First reaction: Way cool! And from what I've seen accurate!
For example after teaching for years on the Armor of God and Paul's likely source material being a regular old Roman soldier, I weary of seeing graphics with Roman Commanders armor or even of non-Roman armor. (Or of armor with no backs and the argument that "this is proof that God doesn't want us to retreat!" Whatever... But here you go on the first item is a proper first century Roman foot soldier's armor, including a proper Lorica Segmentata/breastplate and scutum/shield with a note about rear protection! Thank you for accuracy! I haven't looked at all other graphics yet but that simple observation bolsters my confidence in everything else this resource will hold.
Testing:
I love that you can left click and drag left or right and the next pic in line shows up. That is another great interface move. HOWEVER.... I have a mouse with a wheel that tilts to send signals. It would be nice if the tilt of the wheel caused the pictures to change pages too. (Also rolling the mouse wheel has no effect.)
Right clicking Must be a bug because it isn't working. (logs attached.) However I have some concern over the graphic sizes for export to powerpoint and a further observation. The typical view of most of the graphics is portrait, whereas powerpoint is typically landscape. That distinction should be noted, and if necessary changed. Also the text is likely to be extremely too small for powerpoint presentation. Here's an example:
The Biblical units and measurments page, if presented as one graphic for powerpoint would be too hard to see, but if each of the four measurements represented were a single slide for powerpoint, well then you have something useful. Just a thought.
My concern is that I do not use powerpoint. I use OpenOffice.org Impress which writes and reads PPT files just fine without costing me an arm and a leg. I know you do not have to support every rogue piece of software out there, but I'm concerned that the right click export to powerpoint may not work with impress, and I'm hoping that a working right click will enable me to simply copy the graphic to the clipboard for pasting into my program of choice.
Now then as for the question, Is it enough? Of course not. :-) We always want more, but this is a great resource.

This works great on a tablet. It would be nice to have a zoom slider for tablet navigation. Also in Biblical Places, Things and People, too.

Good idea and some of these would be useful, though of course I would like to see more. I use Keynote so export to Powerpoint would not be useful to me, but if right-click will allow saving the images it will be easy enough to put it in Keynote. Like others, right-click does nothing for me, but I noticed your message about that.
Perhaps tag the info box at the bottom left so the topic will open a dictionary or some such.
Very nice. Of course, we'd all like many more. The graphics in the ESV study Bible are quite good. If they aren't going to be in that resource when produced, they'd be a nice addition.

I think they should be there. If I am not wrong Logos 4 has a feature to gather all our graphics and show them on one place. After ESV SB comes, we should be able to see them there.

Feasts of Israel and connection to the NT (passover, etc.)
Cities of Refuge
Routes of the Exodus
Phophets/Judges locations aligned with the Kings location
Major Characters aligned with Prophets and Kings so you know who was in authority and was proclaiming God's Word
More Kingdoms of the Bible with Geography and timeline and major ruler, including Herod's family tree (see www.biblemaps.com)
Journey in the Bible (Abraham, Conquest, Jonah, Christ, Paul, etc..) (see www.biblemaps.com)

Great resource! Export to PowerPoint is a good option for images, since I sometimes make slide shows for Bible studies. I also like to use maps for Bible studies. That would be a helpful direction for new topical coverage.
I still cannot get right click to work on infographics, either for copying or for exporting to PowerPoint, both of which would be great. Does that work for anyone else?
If not, any idea when a fix is planned?
