I am attempting to understanding the social function of Jesus’ command to "render to Caesar the things of Caesar and to God the things of God" in Luke. What are some good resources?
What resources do your commentaries use (see footnotes and bibliographies).
Ha! Three for three! The "Huh?" factor always gives it away.
The question will depend on just how "terminus technicus" one is being with "social function". Taking it on face value, I'm not sure exactly what would be a good resource...have you ever heard of a thing called Google? Or ChatGPT? You might try there.
I would just, you know, think about it, and then come up with concepts such as "the almost totally segregated bifurcation of YHWH's will vs. human political shenanigans".
Do you even look in commentaries before you make these posts?
Search suggestion is:
social IN (milestone:bible:mt22.15-22 OR milestone:bible:mk12.13-17 OR milestone:bible:lk20.20-26)
FYI: my Logos Library has customized commentary titles.
