Replace Reference with Scripture not working in Word on Mac after Logos 10 update

Hello,

Running Ventura 13.2.1 and have had no problem typing a reference and (Shift, Command, E) and the passage is inserted in Word.  After updating to Logos 10 this feature no longer works.  If I have to restore to the previous version of Word to get this function back I can do this.  Is anyone else running into this, and if so, have you found a resolution?

This happened with another Logos update once before and I think there was a Logos fix weeks (months?) later because Logos did not work with Word.

Thanks!

Donnie

Figured it out.  When Logos updated it turned that function off in the Mac settings.

I am having the same problem.

Are you saying that since Logos turned that function off, there is no way for us to turn it on?

If so, bummer.    I really used that feature a lot.

When I try to run Bible insert from the Pages services menu on my MacBook Pro I get the following:

The action “Run AppleScript” encountered an error: “System Events got an error: Automator Workflow Runner (WorkflowServiceRunner, BibleInsert) is not allowed to send keystrokes.”

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go from here?

    Thanks, jac

    Hi All

I can open the service menu in pages and select 'Replace with Passage (Logos)' and it seems to work.

I wonder if Faithlife have disabled the shortcut or hijacked it for some other purpose?

Go to System Settings on your Mac, then Keyboard, then Keyboard Shortcuts, then click on Services.

Open up the Text heading, and scroll down until you see Replace with Passage (Logos). Make sure that it is activated.

If it is already activated and still not working, say so and I'll upload further instructions.

For whatever reason, this ['Replace with Passage (Logos)] seems to always be my problem. Happens just about every time there is a major update. Logos seems compelled to clear that out. Easy fix for someone at Logos I should think.

Make sure to check those boxes and close and restart everything.  I'm not sure just clicking the box will without the other works.

I hope this helps.  It is frustrating when it doesn't work.  Such a time-saver and easier than the other methods some people seem to like.

No problem. I'll do this with screenshots to make it as clear as possible.

First, open Keyboard Shortcuts in the Keyboard panel (in System Settings).

Second, click on App Shortcuts and click the + sign.

Third, follow these instructions. You have to type "Replace with Passage (Logos)" exactly as I have here, otherwise it won't find the menu item.

Hopefully that will work for you.

Got it.  Thank you so much for taking the time.

I did also shut down and restart everything as per suggestion by Donnie G.

Praise the Lord, it works now.  Thanks you so much again.

This is working fine for me in Word and in Pages, but not in OneNote. I have the most recent version of all three applications, and am running Logos 25.2.56 on Monterey 12.6.6.  Any ideas for getting this shortcut to work in OneNote?  The key combination is already categorized under "All Applications."

    A couple of questions.

    1. With the reference text selected, do you see "Replace with Passage (Logos)" in the Services menu?

    2. If you select "Replace with Passage (Logos)" does it function properly?

    Good questions, Gregory:

    1) Yes, for Word and Pages, no for OneNote.  In fact, OneNote has NO services displayed as applicable.

    2) Yes for Word and Pages, and, of course, no for OneNote.

    Any theories?

    Microsoft didn't enable the option?

I can mostly duplicate this on my MacBook Pro as well, Word and Pages work fine even with Cmd-shoft-E.  The Services menu does show, but it does not show the option to select Replace with Passages. But as you can see in this picture, when I click on Services Settings, it is there and enabled. This seems like it might be a OneNote problem since Word and Pages work? I am not a OneNOte user, but I see that none of the selections in the middle image show up in the Services menu at the top.

I set it up same as Word to try and test this out:

You could try adding a shortcut specifically for OneNote. Perhaps the Services menu requires at least one item in order to display (that is, maybe it won’t appear if it’s empty). Beyond that, I’m out of ideas, my friend; sorry.
