Compatability with Sonoma Developers Beta

Has anyone installed the MacOS Sonoma Developers Beta released today? Is Logos working with it or does it crash? I want to install it but a few years ago, the Developers Beta crashed Logos and I was without Logos for a couple of months and I don't want that to happen again.

Ahem.
Logos provides no support for beta OS's. There is a good chance that it won't work at some point. Even if it works today, a subsequent beta may make your logos installation inoperable. Unless you a developer, you should not be worrying about trying out the betas. When the public betas go live, you should not install them on a device which you can't afford to be without for an extended period of time. Just take the advice of my friend:

Thank you for sharing, I am well aware of that.
It has been my experience that once Logos fixes any incompatibility with a new beta, there is never a problem again with that version of MacOS. So yes, I know that in theory any beta can make any third party software incompatible, it is rare for that to happen.
I have been testing betas for 30 years and I enjoy finding and reporting bugs, that's one reason I use the Logos Betas. However, right now, I don't want to find a bug with Logos. That's why I'm asking if anyone else has experienced any issues with the new Sonoma Developers Beta.
So please, I don't want this thread to degenerate into a discussion on the pros and cons of beta testing. I just want to know anyone else's experience with Sonoma Beta and Logos. Thanks.

I plan on getting Sonoma installed soon, and I'll report any issues I find.

I have installed Sonoma on my Mac Book Pro and so far Logos seems to run fine. I also have ios 17 on my iPad Pro and the mobile version works fine as well.

Thank you. That's good to know. I have been using iOS 17 on my iPhone 14 and have had no issues.

Mostly fine on Sonoma, but I can't dismiss the notifications, which is a bit annoying. It keeps showing ('2') in the toolbar, for the x-marks don't respond.
Logos seems to work fine and the notifications is the only error that I have found so far too. The x marks don't work.

It isn't rare, and I have had it happen to me.
I don't care if you or others beta test... I have done it in the past, and I will likely do it again in the future. However, warnings should always be given... and the expectation should be that something WILL happen... (that is the point of beta testing).

If you're comfortable tweaking a SQLite-database you can "fix" this by updating some timestamps.
The database-file is located at: /Users/$USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/$LOGOS_ID/LocalUserPreferences/PreferencesManager.db
It contains a table called Preferences, in which there is a row under Type 'AppLocalPreferences'. The relevant timestamps are in the Data column. If you set the timestamps to the current date and time you'll be good to go. Set them to a date in the future and you'll be fine until then (I set all years to 2024). If Logos deploys a bug-fix you'll probably want to reset them.
Of course all warranty is void from this point :-)… Logos won't be able to help troubleshoot if this causes any issues.

You can use this Shortcut as well:0

Logos is working fine for me both on Sonoma on my iMac and MacBook Pro and in iOS 17 on my iPhone and iPad Pro.

Ah correction. I am also having the issue in Sonoma with the inability to clear notifications by clicking on the x. But I'm also running the Logos beta v. 26 (double beta whammy!), so I don't know if it's one or the other or a combination of the two

Thanks DS! After 'allow scripts to run', quitting Logos and running the Shortcut you provided - it cleared the notifications
I'm seeing all the X for windows are broken, very strange. A quick command-W (Mac) does the same function and works however
Now if I could only get Logos to work with Vision Pro! [:P]0 -

Experiencing same things on my Mac book. Going to hold off on my iMac and Mac mini.

As usual, I probably will do it soon as I can get a stable copy of Ventura in a volume installed. I kept my Ventura in a UTM VM as a beta and haven't updated in awhile since I am behind after coming home from deployment. My plan is install Ventura in a volume and then install Xcode 15 beta so I can install the Sonoma IPSW on another UTM VM. I let everyone know how it goes.

It is possible to export as usual using Command-P; this brings up the Print-Export window.

Yes, I can confirm I'm seeing the same thing.

The only problem I am having with it (so far) is the "..." drop down menus on the panels are unresponsive. I am stuck without being able to unlink until Logos catches up.

Thank you to this community! I always tell myself don't and I think this time I installed it faster than all other MacOS builds - because they made it so easy!!!
I too have the same issues you all do - just glad copy and paste from Pages is still intact - when that breaks I really hate life in sermon prep!

In the second Sonoma beta, I was able to collapse the toolbar on the left to its more abbreviated form, but now I cannot expand it back. Is there any command that can be entered that can do this?

In the second beta, the window controls and interlinear panel at the bottom are not showing correctly. They appear off screen. Attempting to adjust the window size doesn't work either as I am unable to shift the Logos window down from the top of the screen. This beta seems worse for Logos than the first one.

I confirm that the Sonoma beta #2 is still not acceptably functional with Logos.

if you drag the window size it will draw correctly

I cannot resize the Logos Window. None of the resize handles work.

Ok, never mind. Restarted Logos and resizing works now.

If you keep on tapping (smashing) the arrow-button, you'll eventually be able to collapse it again.

Thank you. I also found out if you click on the resource search button, Logos will draw the books correctly.

Yes, I agree that it's much worse. Can still be used, but it's a bit of a pain.

Parallels seems to be working fine with Sonoma. I’m downloading Logos for Windows right now. That will work fine until Logos works with Sonoma.

In Sonoma, 1st Beta......haven't installed 2nd yet, when I try to close tabs, the x only opens new tabs and won't close them like as if I am hitting the plus sign instead. I have to use a contextual menu and hit close all tabs for the tabs to close. Anyone else seeing this?

Sorry if there are extra stuff in the screen recording. I had some difficulty finding the record stop button. I have recorded the behavior described above in Logos within Sonoma.

I just noticed that trying to open the Library crashes Logos on Sonoma Beta 2. However, I am able to drag the Library onto the window and use it that way.
There seems to be several things that Crash the Latest Logos Beta on the latest Sonoma Beta. One example is clicking on the visual filters button in a Bible (ESV) and typing two letters in the search field in the visual filters.

Agreed. I have found a number of issues already mentioned in this discussion. I am not sure if it is a Logos or Sonoma issue yet. I have found it basically unusable.

Sonoma Beta 2, (23A5276g) has the same bugs as the previous beta, but in addition, when I open my books, only a small margin of the book is seen. Check out the picture.
I had the same issue. I can resize it; but when opening another book, I get the same thing.

Not only that, but I find I can't pick any of the sub-titles and it will open the book. It is completely unresponsive.

And that also helped me expand the Toolbar back as well.

Sonoma Beta 3 is out and has fixed the "click the x" and SOME of the half-blank pane issue :-). Progress.

Steven,
Sounds like good news. I will have to try it out when I get a chance to upgrade to beta 3.

On the "half pane" glitch, I find that manually resizing the Logos window expands the pane properly.
