Biblical Themes
I tried searching the forums for what I am trying to do but could find nothing that fits.
I'm a little embarrassed to ask, because I feel like I should know this after all these years.
For example, say I want to find verses on "endurance" or any other topic. I can search for that word in my Bible, but that won't bring up all the themes on endurance that don't actually use the word "endurance."
What am I forgetting here?

Because there is no Endurance preaching theme. Looking at the themes that are tagged in Hebrews 10:36 yopu might be interested in

Another suggestion: open Factbook and enter endurance in the reference bar.

Try using a themes based resource like The Dictionary of Bible Themes.

Here is another way...
1) Let's say you are in James 1:3. Right click "steadfastness" (ESV). Then in the Context menu, left click LN 25.174, Move your mouse over to the right side of the Context menu and search Bible by left clicking "bible" next to the magnifying glass (denoting search). It will do a search of louwNida:25.174 and gives you 32 results in 31 verses
2) If you prefer Bible Sense Lexicon, then repeat similar procedure. Right click "steadfastness" (ESV). Then in the Context menu, left click on the fish sign for "steadfast endurance (noun), Move your mouse over to the right side of the Context menu and hit "Bible Sense Lexicon" (BSL). It will open the BSL. At the top left, you should see a link for "search for sense "steadfast endurance"". Hit it. It will do a search of sense:"steadfast endurance" and gives you 46 results in 43 verses.

This resource is extremely useful. I have it open in all my composition-related layouts and refer to it frequently.

It seems that the Manser book is quite popular. I've used this too and other Topics-based books such as Nave's Topical Bible, The New Topical Text Book, Topical Analysis of the Bible (but have not used Catholic Topical Index yet, though it seems relevant). But I've been disappointed with the verses that these books collect under a topic. Some verses are not even remotely related to the topic that it made me wonder whether they are using some machines to put it together.
Maybe, my first few attempts were disappointing and I shouldn't have made a hasty decision to ditch these books based on a small sample size. Curious to know the opinions of others who have used these topics-based books.
