Highlights will not delete

I have old highlights and when I select them and choose to delete them, nothing happens. This happens on both versions on both my laptops and my mobile app. Version 29.1.22 and I forget the other one. I think it is Logos 8 I believe. I am using windows 11 laptops. I looked at some of the posts here, but the issues all seemed different. Appreciate any help.

What is the significance of "old highlights"? Can you create a highlight and then delete it?

Please describe how you try to delete them and whether there is an option to delete them or not.

Can you delete "old" ones via the Notes tool?

Thanks for the idea of deleting the highlight via the Notes Tool. That worked. What a pain though. Should be able to just select the text and remove it there. Also, the significance of old highlights is that they are annoying because they don't match with how I highlight text currently. Thanks for the help.
