Moody Courseware

I see the 'Self Tests' are in the Library Tools menu.
When I click this I get a blank page with no prior test results and no agenda for further study.
I purchased this Moody package and had it about 3 months in L3 before L4 came out.
I do not find any other of the courseware in my library etc. If I had it in L3 should I also have it in L4?
Also, I purchased a Win7 machine just a week ago and the prior machine was an XP system.
I still have the XP system with L3 in it just so I can add any possible resources via dvd/cd to L4, so I did not put L3 in the new Win7 and do not want to get out the XP system to further the Moody Courses.
Am I looking for the Moody material in the wrong place or is it still to come?
Thanks.

I did some testing for Moody and Logos on the AM courseware. By special arrangement I ran the existing AM couseware in Logos 4.
As of right now the product has not been released for Logos 4. This is good news. What I found caused the product to be sent back to text development for improvements to the hyperlinks. Also there were some issues with the exams.
You can run the the courseware in L3, but we will have to wait for it to become available in Logos 4. Like you I am waiting for the upgraded version for Logos 4.

Mark, where able to submit the exams to the Moody System for scoring and credit? That function was not working the last I checked. The self-tests did work in 4.0c beta releases, but not the exams.
The issue with the hyperlinks concerned the hyperlinks at the end of the lessons, not the verse hyperlinks. The commentary and dictionary hyperlinks often took you to the wrong place. I do not believe the rework of these is out yet. I expect to be notified when they are ready for testing.
I am teaching all weekend, but will check all this out as soon as I get a break.

Try inserting the AM Courseware CD, enter the scan command with path to your CD drive (e.g., scan d:\) in the Command box in Logos 4, then restart L4. It should say it is 'Preparing your library' as it discovers and installs the resources on the disc.
The Self Tests tool will display only the exams and quizzes that you've begun. There isn't an option to import your L3 self tests at this time, although that has been requested.

Melissa and others,
I tried the suggestion of Melissa and the library did on restart imply that it was "preparing library" but I cannot find any trace of the AM Course Ware.
Anyone with a suggestion, etc?
Thanks

During a break in class today I was able to try the AM Courseware. I can now submit exams to Moody for credit. I was not able to do this before. A page from www.moody.edu/....... confirmed my taking the exam and storing the result.
I did have to change the %40 to an @ in the Logos customer ID and the email address when I signed on to the Moody site.
However many of the hyperlinks still take you to strange and curious places.
I will report all this to the proper folks at both Moody and Logos.

If you're typing 'AM Courseware' in the Library Find field or Command box, nothing will come up. Try entering one of these course titles: First Steps in the Christian Faith, The Good News, or Successful Soul-Winning.

It has been requested, but I was just wondering if importing quizzes and exams is being considered? Is it something to look forward to?

They both have to do part of it. It is being worked on and I am doing a "beta" testing on the Logos 4 version.

I do not know but will try to find out for you from the managers involved.

Thanks Frank, I think I will wait until the Logos 4 version is out.
Also what is the best Library edition that will get the most out of the AM Courseware, I am currently using Scholar's Library Gold.

For those of you familiar with the AM Bible Courseware, I am curious about how long it takes (on average - rough guess) to complete a lesson or an entire course? I am trying to put together a curriculum schedule for myself for the coming year and I don't know where else to ask this question.
Thanks for your answers to come,
Glenn

That is a hard question to answer. You Scholar's Gold is probably more then adequate. I spoke to the manager at Moody and he will have someone help us come up with a recomendation as to the best base package. When I know I will post it to the forum. It may take a while since I will be ministering in the Alaskan Bush until the first of July.

According to the manager at Moody who has taught the entire program at his church, allow 1-2 hours per lesson. That will allow time to take the self-tests and the four (4) exams that are part of each course. Each course has 12 lessons, so 12 to 24 hours per course is his recommendation. In my opinion this may be a little short so I would allow up to 3 hours, but many lessons will not take that long. It will depend on how much time you spend on the "Opportunities for Deeper Study" section at the end of each lesson. You do not need to do anything with the "Opportunities for Deeper Study" in order to pass the courses I have tried.
After you pass the four exams for a course you can get a CEU certificate from Moody Bible Institute for that course.0 -
Thanks Frank for your reply, your are very helpful. [Y][Y]

Hi Frank! How was Alaska?
Just wondering if you are still working on the testing for this, and if you found out about importing?
Thanks!
