I am working in the passage guide - important words section. My preferred bible is the ESV. I want to see the passages in the guide displayed in another translation. Do I have to change my preferred bible to make this happen or is there another way? Thanks!

As far as I'm aware you would need to change your preferred Bible

In the help file it does say it uses the preferred bible, with no mention of a possibility to change this.

[quote]When a word is expanded, the section displays all the verses containing that lemma in the guide passage with links to the preferred Bible.

You might consider using Verbum if using Logos, or vice versa, as a secondary app, with a different preferred bible, if this is critical for your workflow, space permitting. Whilst priorities are shared and synced, if you do not have installed your highest priority bible in the secondary app, the next highest priority will assume the roll in that app.

Thanks Kevin.  I will probably just change my preferred bible when I need to.

In several steps, you can make it very easy to move between preferred Bibles.

    1. In the Command Bar, type: Set preferred Bible to NRSV (or whatever). Don't click on it. Instead, drag to your right and drop the short cut there. Drag it to the right side of the bar so it can temporarily land there. You are creating shortcuts that you can then better organize by creating a folder for them.

    2. Then right click on it and set it to folder PB. That will create a folder for Preferred Bibles.

    3. Do that for as many Bibles as you may want to switch between. Then you have a dropdown menu on your tool bar with makes it easy to switch back between them.

Awesome, This is very helpful. I didn't know you could do this.

Yes, thank you.  I can see many uses for this.

That is true Dave, but, at least for desktop (I have not checked the mobile app), the next sentence of my post explained how you can still have a different prioritised bible.

So if you have ESV prioritised over NIV in Logos, and in Verbum do not install the ESV, then in Verbum the NIV will be the used. Think of it as a highest installed priority.

Sorry Kevin, I had missed that trick!

Actually, my mobile uses a different bible because it does not recognise Advanced prioritization  i.e.

    • NET Bible - use for NET Bible First Edition Notes
    • ESV
    • NABRE

Desktop app recognises that ESV is preferred, but mobile uses NET Bible!
