Is there a way to force Logos to reorder my custom "myTags."
If not, then the "myTags" feature is rendered useless for me to find resources I have already tagged. I appreciate your assistance ahead of time!
Guessing:
- In the library?
- Looking at the filters for myTags?
If so, clicking on the library column for your tags, sorts them in alpha sequence. Not preferred of course.
Else?
DMB,
Thank you for your efforts; however, in this instance, the obvious answer doesn't work!
The facets are sorted by frequency, but if you right-click the top bar in the library and get it to display My Tags, then sort by the tags in the library, it will work. I made a 14 second video illustrating: https://youtu.be/VVDTD_2grNM
Justin,
Thanks for the effort; but again, already been there and done that. That's not the issue. I have selected to sort by mytags; however, whether I sort them in either ascending, or descending order, a significant number will not sort alphabetically. I almost certainly need to re-index the database which stores the list of "mytags."
Can you post a screenshot (use the paperclip icon in the forum editor) showing what you are seeing?
As others indicated, it is not fully clear to us what your problem is.I guess you are assigning more than one tag per book and therefore experience a problem with alphabetical order. As a matter of fact, if you assign more than one tag to a specific book, Logos does not place these tags in alphabetical order, but simply in the order in which you assigned them. I've given four tags to each book, but for simplicity I will speak here only about two:
- a tag that starts with the letter T and that indicates a topic, e.g.: T51 for Old Testament monographs and T52 for New Testament monographs- a tag that starts with the letter L and that indicates the language of the resource: L0 for English, L1G for Greek, L1H for Hebrew, L2F for French, L2G for German. When I assign the T tag first to a book, that tag appears first on that book. But when I assign the L tag first, that one appears first.
If I want to check whether a book contains one tag but not yet both, I can search in the library catalogue for: * -mytag:T to find all books that do not yet have a T tag, and I can search for * -mytag:L to find all books that do not yet have an L tag. By the way, by using T51 for OT monographs and T52 for NT monographs, I just have to type T5 to see all OT and NT monographs together. And by using L2F for French, L2G for German, etc., I just have to type L2 to see all books in a modern language other than English together. As letter-number combinations are rarely used in book titles, etc., there is no need to type mytag:T5 or mytag:L2 - just T5 or L2 is enough.
Issue is resolved via "Tech Help Desk" assistance. The database containing the "mytag" data apparently was corrupt. When I renamed it and restarted Logos, it rebuilt the index and tags now sort properly. Thank everyone for your interest and attempts to help.
Willem,
Thanks for your interest, but the issue has been now resolved via Logos Tech Support.
You were closest to understanding what was going on. The issue was in the library window. When sorting my library via the "My Tags" button, whether sorted by descending or ascending order, the listed tags were not fully alphabetized!
