This book is one of the Hot Buys this week. I note though it's nearly 30 years old. Has anyone used it and found it useful or would my $5 be better spent on a different resource? The reviews online are quite mixed.

It's still solid.
However, the $5 might be better invested in a piggy bank for saving toward $51... Evidences (On the Resurrection, vol. 1) | Logos Bible Software
The Historical Jesus: Ancient Evidence for the Life of Christ is certainly a good start.
I would say that any book by Habermas would be a good book to have when dealing with resurrection apologetics.
On the Resurrection vol. 2 is in pre-pub:

I had Dr. Gary Habermas and this book is derived directly from his research at Liberty University. It is very good and explicably solid in depth. I suggest saving your money and looking at Liberty University's Digital Commons and save your money for the book Jan Krohn posted above. It is very good. I own in it print and it is very solid. https://digitalcommons.liberty.edu/do/search/?q=(author%3A%22Gary%20R.%20Habermas%22)&start=0&context=234296&facet=
Thanks for the responses so far. This book is on the historicity of Jesus rather than his resurrection, which the author is famous for "defending".

Hopefully they fix the first book before the 2nd one comes out...
We can hope!
