But if you want a non-specialist approach to cognates, especially working in greek, this volume is really quite fascinating (and cheap). Somehow, I bounced out of late hebrew > aramaic, and landed in Indo-European!
And Logos could do with more language development. Tons of ink have been spilled on Palestine's central location, but little on how people had to have conversed. Take for example the Persians (Indo) and aramaic as the administrative language (semitic).
