Commentary on Isaiah

I'm looking for either an expository or technical commentary on the book of Isaiah, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good one that lines up with the Divine Council worldview. The one in the NICOT series by Oswalt has caught my eye, but I'm considering the one in the WBC series as well because I really enjoy the Revelation commentary I have from there.

Welcome to the forums Tyler. The Divine Council worldview is a good stance to study. Before applying the Divine Council worldview to Isaiah I suggest you dig deep into Mike Heiser's books and see what commentaries he cites if you have not already done so. Also check out Michael S. Heiser, “Divine Council,” in Dictionary of the Old Testament: Wisdom, Poetry & Writings (ed. Tremper Longman III and Peter Enns; Downers Grove: IVP Academic; Inter-Varsity Press, 2008). My favorite commentaries are The Book of Isaiah by Edward J. Young, Isaiah by Joseph Blenkinsopp, Isaiah (The Old Testament Library | OTL) by Brevard Childs. The NICOT and WBC are good commentaries but I do not think they will cover exactly what you want.

Oswalt up-front, says he's not buying it (for Isaiah at the time).

Most technical commentaries reference Seitz 1990 'The Divine Council: Temporal Transition and New Prophesy in the Book of Isaiah' JBL 109.

Continental Commentary has the most lengthy discussion of Isaiah and DC.
