Interesting AI (Perplexity) feature ... it asked me for help

I asked Perplexity to discuss Gregory the Theologians three-fold classification of names of God - it not only couldn't answer ... the closest it found was the wrong Gregory. I kept trying and while I got it onto the right topic on the right Gregory, Perplexity replied it could find no information on a classification. I thanked Perplexity and suggested it needed to bone up on its Orthodox theology. It asked me for a reliable source if I found one. I had one at hand Alfeyev, Hilarion. Doctrine and Teaching of the Orthodox Church. Translated by Andrew Smith. Vol. II. Orthodox Christianity. Yonkers, NY: St Vladimir’s Seminary Press, 2012. complete with a short description of the three-fold classification. To my surprise, the link allowed Perplexity to find the right path for the information I was looking for. When I help AI is that evidence that I am smarter than 2-year-old AI??

I have found that when I’m wanting to discuss something with any degree of complexity with AI systems It helps to make statements telling the system what I will be wanting to discuss with it before I ask my question. I have found I get better answers that way than just giving it my initial request.

Also today I came across a new free feature On ChatGPT that generates a detailed prompt from your basic entry about what you want to find or learn about. It is in the ChatGPT playground under the chat feature. There is a ”Generate” button. You click that and enter your query, then click ’Create.’ Copy and paste the resulting text into the AI of your choice. I have been pasting it first into a notetaking app to see if I want to adjust any of it.

If anything it’s useful to see the better way to prompt an artificial intelligence to get the reply you might be seeking.
