Displaying full footnotes in a resource

I would like to view the full footnotes on the same screen as the text of a resource.

The resource in question is the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament 5th edition (UBS5), which has extensive text critical footnotes that are essential for effective use of this resource for Bible study.

I have tried Reading View with the Show Footnotes on Page selected, but the footnotes still do not display.

I tried using Power Lookup to display the footnotes in a separate panel. But this tool has several problems.

Power Lookup will not display the entire footnote. It only shows 5 lines and then has a link so I can open the full critical apparatus in another Window.
Power Lookup does not display the footnote number or letter. So it is very confusing to determine which part of the text the footnote applies to. This is a flaw in the UBS5 Apparatus document as well.

Is there an option in Power Lookup to display the full footnote rather than just a teaser? Is there a better way to view the full footnote?

For the UBS text, I cannot hover over or click on a footnote number to view the footnote without opening the apparatus resource.

I really want to use the Logos edition with the critical apparatus footnotes. But these problems with the Logos edition make the printed edition easier to use for textual criticism. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You appear to be correct that there is a problem with the text. Can you give me an example of where I should see a footnote rather than the apparatus?

Plus, you have to aim your mouse carefully. A '2a' reference, points to two parts of the apparatus.

Then, if you hook your apparatus to the greek text, click on the footnote, it'll find the note in the apparatus (good), but then re-position the greek text to the top (bad, messing up the pericope comparisons).

But all my greek texts/apparatus don't show any footnotes, no matter the visual filter, columns=1, etc. I have my greek texts in tabs above, and all the apparatus below in tabs (which is handy for the historical ones).

Here is an example of the UBS 5 text in the left panel. I set Footnotes on and 1 column display. No footnotes are included with the biblical text. In the right panel the footnotes are shown in Power Lookup. But there are no footnote numbers or letters, so it is very confusing. Also, only part of each footnote is shown in Power Lookup.

By contrast, here is the NASB 1995. It does display translation footnotes (numbered), but not cross reference footnotes (lettered). The Power Lookup does show the lettered and numbered notes. It also shows the letters and numbers, unlike the UBS5.

Here is the Nestle-Aland 28th edition Greek New Testament. It also does not display footnotes. But Power Lookup does show the note numbers/letters/symbols, so it is a bit easier to follow than the UBS5 is.

The UBS5 Power Lookup should display more like the NA28 with the note numbers/letters/symbols. Neither UBS5 or NA28 display footnotes on the page when that option is selected.

Looks like an issue for Kyle ... and is more than a bit disturbing. I seriously hope L9 makes a serious effort to address these sorts of problems.

I just wanted to see footnotes in a separate panel and it took way too long for me to find the answer (probably my fault), but Power Lookup is amazing!

I do not think that apparatus references are treated in the same way as traditional footnotes. FWIW, what I usually do for Biblical texts with apparatus marks is to add the apparatus as a parallel text and turn the parallel text viewing "on." That way, as you scroll through the text, the apparatus scrolls with it.
