I was in 2 Peter 2:1 about false prophets and teachers. The Greek is Pseudo*
How can I search for all words beginning with "Pseudo"
I searched my favorite Greek NT for ψευδο*. Are you asking about everywhere that the Greek begins with words that we put into Latin characters as "pseudo"?
lemma.g:ψευδo* I received 104 hits in the NASB95.
It's funny, @Jack Caviness ; I get 20 results in 19 verses using the same query. That result aligns well with the query I put above. But I will also say I ran it again in a search window I had opened previously and got 0 results. But if I open a brand new search window, I get the results I expect. I don't want to get off topic for @Bob Diebel.
Edit: For my issue, I was searching using ψευδo* to get no results. When it worked, I was using ψευδο*. The difference is the hex code for one was BF and the other was 6F. Sorry about the distraction.
I have tried "lemma.g:=ψευδο*" in an English text, and "ψευδο*" in a Greek text.
I get no results.
Now "lemma.g:ψευδo*" in "NASB 2020" gave 20 results in 19 verses
Went back and tried
"lemma.g:ψευδo*" in "NASB 1995" gave 20 results in 19 verses
Seems flacky to me, not consistent.
@Bob Diebel , did you see my post above about whether I typed an omicron or a Latin "o" character? I didn't think it would make a difference, but in my simple search, it does. At least on the search I mentioned. I'm not sure when Logos can make that equivalence work or why it doesn't normally.
Thanx, that does help. I saw the post, but did not know how to get "hex code for one was BF and the other was 6F".
Interesting results from the rest of you. I repeated my search in UBS5 and NASB95. This time I got 20 results in 19 verses. Replaced omicron with o and still received 20 hits in 19 verses. When searching lemma g: Logos likely changed the o to omicron. Don't know what happened in that earlier search; guess I should have looked at the search results 🙄 Just call it a senior moment.
Dear Folk, Brian Collins' recent WordbyWord article summarizing types of commentaries is very good. How can we save this article for later use? I've starred it in my browser, but will Logos always keep it available somewhere? Logos best commentaries site, usually has commentaries categorized as Advance, Intermediate, etc.;…
I have a lot of books in Logos which I often want to consult, but then when I try to do so I can't since it is called something else in Logos compared to what I know it by and I don't recognize it. I see that I am able to change the names of books, but it is unclear to me what I am supposed to be changing for it to show up…
Both Robert Solomon and Irving Singer attribute the quote "love is lust plus the ordeal of civility" to Freud, but neither of them provides an actual source. I have looked and looked and strongly suspect this is a sentence/claim attributed to Freud that he never actually said/wrote. This happens a lot with famous thinkers.…
How should I start?
I can change the versions that appear in the text comparison tool with no trouble. However, when I press F7 from my Bible, I do not get the versions I want to compare. How do I change the Bibles that appear when I press F7?
