Mac Logos Indexer Icon is Always Present

I'm on Mac and recently when the Logos Indexer icon appears in the menu bar it never goes away. In the past it would appear during indexing and then disappear. And in the past you could click on it and get information about the progress of indexing. Now clicking the icon does nothing and if I look in Activity Monitor the Indexer process isn't using any CPU and seems to not be doing anything.
This seems to be a bug where the indexer process doesn't close correctly? I've used force quit to end the process but when new updates come the process repeats and the indexer icon is stuck in the menu bar even though it's not doing anything.
Is this a known issue?

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing. I am also on a Mac, and I do not see an indexer icon.

It's this icon - which in the past was only present when re-indexing was happening. But now doesn't do anything when you click it and also never goes away.

Logos 40.0 Max Subscription with Update Channel set to Beta on Mac OS 15.3.2 I do not have that icon.
Went to my Mac Book. Now, I have the icon, but Logos indicates that it is indexing 96% complete. When indexing completed, the icon went away.
If you click the icon, what do you see?

That's what it used to do. Now when I click it nothing happens…

Have you tried acting like a Windows user and restarting your computer? Other than that, I am stumped.

Actually I have :) No change so far

Samuel, here are a few things to check - mine works properly too on a Mac, so just taking an educated guess or two:
(1) Do you use any of the apps that manage the menu bar, like Bartender, iStat Menus, or Hidden Bar? They might be forcing the Indexer icon to stay visible.
(2) It's possible the Indexer's settings got corrupted, then Indexing might not behave as expected. Try resetting its preferences by deleting its .plist file. These files are usually found in:
~/Library/Preferences/
Do you know how to get to this? Open Finder, click on Go menu item, then click Go to Folder, and paste ~/Library/Preferences/ into the box and hit enter. There's a LOT in that Preferences folder, easiest I think is to do a search on that folder, for Logos.
I am running Verbum, my indexer's preferences list name is com.logos.VerbumInder.plist. I also see com.logos.desktop.verbumindexer.plist.
If you are up for the risk, first be sure Logos is completely closed. Ensure nothing of Logos is running in the Activity Monitor. Then, copy those two plist files, and place them somewhere else safe so you can restore them if necessary. Delete them from the Preferences folder. Restart your Mac. Then run Logos, and initiate an index of one resource, like 'Reindex LLS:THHLYSPRT' (you will find this name at the bottom of a resource's information pane; when you type it, the command box will show the real name like 'Reindex The Holy Spirit' - click that to start the indexing.)
See if deleting the plist files fixes it.
WARNING - not sure how advanced a Mac user you are, but -
It’s generally safe to delete a plist file from ~/Library/Preferences/, but with some considerations:
Plist Files Are Usually Rebuilt! Most plist files are automatically recreated by the application when you relaunch it. If the app doesn’t find its plist, it will typically revert to default settings and create a new one.
When to Be Cautious - Deleting a plist removes all preferences stored in it. HOWEVER - there is no settings/customization of the Indexer that I am aware of! That's why I recommend just deleting plist files with 'Indexer' in the name, NOT any other Logos plists!
TO CONFIRM AGAIN: Best Practice for Deleting Plist(s)
1. Quit Logos (and any other processes running in Activity Monitor) before deleting the plists.
2. Backup the plists by moving them somewhere safe (e.g., Desktop).
3. Delete the plist files.
4. Restart your Mac.
5. Relaunch Logos and test if it functions correctly.
6. If issues arise, restore the plists from your backup location.Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Brilliant - deleting the plist files for the Indexer worked (I also found some other old Logos plist files to delete.) Everything is working properly now. Thank you!

Samuel glad it worked! Maybe it will work for @Tony Walker

@NetworkGeek Thank you for providing that info. I will save that procedure so that next time something like this happens, I may be able to help. With utmost caution, of course.
