Ready for Beta Testing: Smart Search on the Dashboard

Just released in v41 beta 2 is an update that brings Smart Search to your Dashboard and we're excited for it to receive beta testing.
Bringing Smart Search front and center on the Dashboard will allow users to quickly enter a query and see results in the Search Panel.
For subscribed users, two buttons will be available: "Search Bible" (Smart Bible search) and "Search All" (Smart All search). Users without a subscription will have the "Search Bible" button, allowing them to try out Smart Bible search.
This update to the Dashboard is available in beta on Desktop now and will be made available on Web very soon. We would love to hear what you think!

I think this looks really interesting and helpful.
I tried it - using a Bible Search (but the same thing happens with an All search) - when I already had a number of books open in the workspace. The resulting search panel was hidden behind the existing panels
When I selected it, it showed the expected results
Is this intended behaviour or should the search results be visible immediately on switching back to the workspace?

Thanks for the report, @Graham Criddle! This is not the intended behavior, but is a bug made more prominent by the v41 beta release. Are you on Mac or Windows?
We're working on a fix that allows this to work as intended (immediately hiding the Dashboard and making your search results the active panel).

This was on Mac - I haven't had a chance to try it on Windows yet.

Sounds good - thanks @Anna Adent

That's helpful to know. We have not seen this bug on Windows, but it was worth confirming.

Verbum in Windows 11 switches results to my Search panel with "Send searches here". I have two Search panels in my layout and results use (and open) a third panel in the absence of a "Target" panel.
Bible Search and All Search options worked as expected.

Tried a Bible search for "Job demands an audience with God" and received a useful, but hardly exhaustive list. For instance, the search found Job 13:3, but missed verses 18-19 and 22-24 in the same chapter.

Was 22-24 missing or just further down the search results? And looking at 18-19, its not clear they satisfy the search criteria

I seem to have missed 22-24, but If 18-19 do not seek an audience with God, for whom has he prepared his case?
I ran the search in 3 English versions and in BHS. BHS yielded 20 hits while the three English versions yielded only 11.

I guess my point was that while Job was preparing his case for God he may not be actually demanding an audience in those verses.
I'm speculating - but it may explain why those verses aren't returned.

Your thinking is likely correct. I will need further study to see why BHS yielded 7 more hits than the English translations.
In any case, we seem to have departed from the intent of this thread. I think the addition of Smart Search to the Dashboard is an excellent choice.
