REQUEST FOR FEATURE: Numbered Notes

Since the program has lost the feature of notes "staying put" in the order they were created, it would be extremely helpful if FL would create 0-9 icons to be included among the current choices available.
That way, if the order is mixed up sequentially, at least users can know what the intended order is. I do sometimes have more than ten notes attached to a word or verse, but I can use different colors of 0-9 to represent "teens".

Why doesn't the creation date/time work for use as the order in which they were created?

Well, lots of reasons come to mind. Some of the notes were created over a decade ago, so I wouldn't have any idea of how to specifically find where in the long list of thousands of notes the particular notes I am currently interested in examining are located. Is there any way to limit that search function to the 6 notes attached to a particular verse? Even if there was, the hoops needing to be jumped through make it very unwieldy, whereas if each note has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 attached to it right at the choice marker, I don't have to spend any time in "how" or "where" mode, or searching whatnot…I can just click and progress in my study. Even if the aforementioned swirl takes place, I still know how to find the logical sequence of my thoughts if the presentation in the app is 4, 2, 1, 3, 5, 6.

I was simply addressing this portion of your request
feature of notes "staying put" in the order they were created,
Nothing more.

I do sometimes wish Logos would treat the first line of text in the notes like a title so that I could sort by it.
If this were the case, you could utilise alphanumeric characters to begin that line of text to set an order. For those employing knowledge management techniques such as Zettelkasten, this would be tremendously beneficial.
The Logos note platform is good in many ways, but when I need to push out into this sort of stuff, I turn to Obsidian and these days I am using Capacities more and more.

There is a trick to sort notes by titles (the first line of the note), or at there was, but I can't recall what it was.

I am not addressing anything regarding the sorting of notes. I'm addressing my ability to choose the correct order of my notes ON THE PAGE OF MY BIBLE when I have more than one.
In the top line above, the highlighted section of seven notes should begin with the green note on the left, but due to FL's disregard for how the program functions and their willingness to change things willy-nilly, that once anchored-on-the-left green note floats randomly. The logic stream of the notes I have attached begins with the material in the green note…everything flows from it. Right now, I can see which note is the starting point, but which of the remaining six notes is number two? Number three? Four? I used to be able to click from left-to-right and dependably work my way through the logic chain. Now, especially if I haven't looked at a series of notes in a while, I have to waste time trying to figure out which one of the six remaining notes comes second, third, and so on.
What I'm asking for is ULTRA SIMPLE…a 0-9 series of numbered note icons that allow me to move seamlessly through my note series even if the program randomly churns the order.
Even when there are only two notes, like the green highlighted section on the left, the order is often important, and right now I NEVER KNOW IF THE ORDER IS CORRECT. The numbered icons would fix that problem.
Also pertinent is the fact, which I've addressed in previous posts, that the note order shifts from platform to platform. This is my phone. If I pulled this passage up on my tablet, the green note would be in a different position.

If they can't/won't fix this quickly for you, could you assign your own numbers to colours in the meantime? For example, green=1, pink=2, yellow=3, and so on?

Theoretically, yes…but I have used colors for other purposes for a long time. It wouldn't be an easy transition, and I have thousands of notes. Numbers would be a quick(er) fix.

Okay, what you essentially are asking for is additional note icons that include a number - you want the icons to indicate sequence. You don't care about the sequence of the notes themselves which is what I mistakenly thought. There have been other requests to expand the available icons and permit user supplied icons. I've seen nothing that makes me think this is in the near-term plans.
