Apparently (maybe I didn't notice) the Faithlife subscription guards stood down … 'everyone' can now buy the 2025's. And it even noticed which 'tradition' I tend to buy (maybe looking at the last one).

Also the front Logos page says I can 'start a free trial'. I'm afraid to push the button, to see if 'really??'.

Not that there's anything in the 2025's to buy. And 'up to 25%' means not really. Plus a residual bad taste. So, it goes.

A cynical mind would say, "they aren't listening, they just weren't selling enough to subscribers."

A less cynical mind would say, "this is a positive step; I bet they'll continue in this direction."

Count me a cynic (but not a bad cynic). I can't imagine a planned strategy of hitting up Logosians for packages in early April (tax time).

BTW (trying to resurrect the thread value-added), new Expansion Libraries are available (see 'Deals').I've not the budget, but an interesting one: https://www.logos.com/product/386673/ancient-texts-and-translations-library-expansion-l which has Faith in Formulae (normally quite expensive).

That's extremely disappointing. I was looking at the 2025 Libraries, but if this is just a one-time deal, it feels like they're jerking us around.

Check your dynamic pricing for the Diamond Pentecostal/Charismatic BP, it might be cheaper. At least for me it brought it down from $129 to $115 and the extra resources in the P/C BP surpass the value of the Library Expansion in terms of usefulness and number.

Yes, that's what I don't get. Unless perhaps you had a few of the libraries that were very cheap (the Starter Bronze, for example, is $9.xx for me, because of dynamic pricing), but even if you had already done the free trial, simply buying $200 of books would have caused a 1 month subscription at the lowest level to pay for itself (and that's assuming you didn't qualify for any other discount). Anything over that would have made it even cheaper. To each his own, I guess.

Different set of values. Then there's the problem of blowing up my layout. And books I normally would move to hidden … intruding on searches etc

Well this exceeded the temptation threshold. I thought I need the Faith in Formulae since I spend time with people coming from the Middle East. Actually they are not interested in theological precision, they just prefer to be social, but I think that book is good in case someone asks. This is also a good time to buy from US, when the Dollar plunges:

In my case, no. I don't want a subscription, and I'm not trying it out. I've purchased feature upgrades over the years, including the Logos 10 full feature upgrade back in October 2022. I'm happy with what I already have, and I'm not transitioning to the subscription model, not even giving it a sample tryout.

I'm another "no" on that. I have no interest in an ongoing subscription, and don't feel right about signing up for one month - knowing that I fully intend to cancel at the end of 30 days - just to take advantage of a discount intended for subscribers. That's just not who I want to be.

Oh stop it 😂 That’s how subscriptions work anyway. My brother subscribed but didn’t like it and he cancelled. He didn’t like the new libraries but it would’ve been perfectly fine to try, buy and then cancel. Is not a sin, but I guess it would be if you have a weak conscience.

Sorry, DAL … I wouldn't do it for Amazon Prime … nor would my secular friends do it either. Frowned on. And I won't do it for Faithlife. However you do point out the implied Christian irony of higher principles = weaker conscience. Sort of like Paul's more sins, more grace!
