BUGː Logos keeps crashing

Over the last two weeks or so, Logos regularly crashes.

Last week, I couldn't use the software for a whole day, as it crashed 6 times in a row and more afterwards.

Today, I can open Logos, but whenever I click something in the toolbar, or even try to close a panel, Logos crashes.

I have Logos 40.2

Let me know how I can assist with more info to let you help fix this problem.

Please enable diagnostic logging and post logs after a crash (before restaring Logos) in a reply to this thread.

Thank you! I'll do that next time it crashes again. The last few days were without issues.

@Jason Stone (Logos), Here's the log of my latest crash today, right after opening Logos. I think the only thing I tried to do, was to go to the Program Settings through the three dots in the upper right corner.

It looks like you might be experiencing a rare kind of crash in Microsoft's WPF related to either system UI language or active keyboard language. (There aren't many reports for this particular error on the web AFAICT, so it's a little hard to say for sure.)

Is your Windows UI language or active keyboard set to something "unusual"? If so, are you able to set both to "English (United States)" and see if that resolves the crash? That might give us more information about what causes this problem.

Hey Bradley, that's cool. You seem to be exactly right.

I'm using several different keyboards, including English, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, and IPA for the minority languages that I work with. It appears that when I switch to IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), Logos will crash at the next action. Also, when I start Logos with the IPA keyboard activated, it will crash immediately after opening the UI.

Attached is my latest crash log (one after switching keyboard while Logos was already open).

This is already a big help. I now know that for the time being I should turn off my IPA keyboard, whenever I use Logos.

This is not a solution for the long term though, as I need to use IPA regularly while using both Logos and Bible Translation software (Paratext) at the same time.

This bug might mostly be reported by other SIL / Wycliffe Bible translators who may use IPA.

Btw, the keyboard is managed by Keyman.

Let me know if I can help with any further details.

    Thanks for assistingǃ

Logos 41 (which shipped today) uses a different version of .NET. It's possible that this may have improved compatibility; can you test again?

    Unfortunately, it still crashes.
