Time zone for reading plan

I live overseas, and my reading plan shows "tomorrow" instead of "today" in my morning, when I usually read. It is not a HUGE problem, of course, but it would be nice if I knew where the reading plan was getting it's time zone information from. Or how I can set the my time zone in Logos. It clearly is not using my computer time.

    Hi,

I have the same issue as the OP posted 5 years ago. I noticed that my Reading Plans appeared to be following PST time. I have searched Logos Forums … cannot find a solution. I might have missed something obvious.

I would appreciate if someone can help guide me on this or point be to a solution. Thanks.

    PS:

    • I am at GMT+8
    • I am on macOS Sequoia 15.4 and Logos 40.2.4,
    • Date & Time setting on MacBookPro: Time & Date = Auto, Time Zone Location = Auto
    • None of my other macOS Apps have such issue.

Logos uses your computer Time Zone and I have no problem being in Australia. Provide a screen shot of your Reading Plan as a List (not Calendar) and state what your "Today" date is. Are you on Mac?

    Dave,

For my case I am on MacBookPro … see screenshot below showing my current system time (GMT+8) and Logos Reading Plan as a List.

I think you are confusing your calendar date with the book's Reading Date i.e. Today's reading is for April 2 in the book, which appears incorrect because you are on Thursday April 3 at GMT+8, which is what your List shows when you count down to Apr 10 in the List.

If you put the Devotional as a card on your Dashboard you will find that it opens to the correct calendar date each day.

    Dave,

Thanks for your reply. As you have suggested, I have it as a Devotional Card on my Dashboard, Click on it, the same problem exists. Maybe there is something I do not understand or missed. On the same screen shot I have my current system date & time on top "Today" , at the bottom showing as "tomorrow". Since it is working for you (I believe you are on Windows), looks like it may be a Mac only type of problem. Thanks.

As a Devotional card on Dashboard, the 366 day Devotion opens to the correct date (for the last three days I've had it there). As a Reading Plan there is no guarantee that it will select the April 5th reading on April 5th. I cannot get your titles for the reading as my Plan only accepts page numbers, which eventually lose sync with reading days.

How did you generate your Plan?

    Dave,

I generated the Reading Plan from scratch:

    • Documents → New → select Reading Plan; as highlighted below.

    Thanks.

I read that from your earlier screenshot, but I only get page numbers despite it having an index for Day of Year.

But here is one of Tozer's 366 Day Devotionals, starting on January 1:

The first reading -Today- takes me to the reading for Today i.e. April 6. Also, the book has a reading for February 29 whilst the Plan knows there are only 28 days in February 2025!

When I chose a 365 day Devotional, the Plan recognizes the headings for each month as additional Readings!

So you can't rely on Reading Plans for Daily Devotionals, and I can only rely on a Dashboard Card to get the correct Reading.

    Dave,

Thanks for investigating … It is ok; I can live with what it is today for my marking my daily reading (time difference from GMT+8 to GMT-8). Thanks.

    Dave,

I found that the problem of TimeZone (Date & Time) related to Reading Plan (Daily Readings) has been resolved with Logos 41.0.416. I will monitor for a few days to see if it is really resolved.😀
