    1. Yes. I was slow this round due to cash pressures.

    2. I am expanding my patristic studies and the version packages are generally some of the best value.  Anytime there is a deep sale on packages, collections or journals, I usually buy something if I have the cash. I have faithlife connect essentials as well, so that keeps my core features set up to date

As far as the software goes, L10 was the best upgrade ever. The speed and UI is outstanding.

    1. Have you purchased an Logos 10 upgrade (the free basic update doesn't count): Yes
    2. What was the primary reason for your upgrade decision? I mistakenly believed I could add my print library to Logos. You can NOT. All you get is a reference to your print library - possibly the volume and page number. If you have and older library there are not any barcodes in your volumes to scan. You can create bar codes with a bar code labeler and self-stick applicator by purchasing these independently.
    3. If a reference is all you want, then you may find this upgrade useful. For me it was a total waste of money. Electronic copies are under a separate license so you can't get them with purchasing them separately,
    4. I understand there is no subscription model so its very expensive for Logos to host the site for free. They count on the revenue from purchases of products. Im ok with this - they need revenue to stay operational (like payment plans),

Why did you not return the product within the 30 day limit?

There have been subscriptions called Connect (no longer available to new users). But have you not seen Get Early Access to Logos Pro and the long comment thread, together with a couple of other threads, about a projected subscription model in this forum,?

      1. yes
      2. no but I plan to
      3. no and I'm undecided
      4. no and I plan not to
    2. What's the primary reason for your upgrade decision?

    1) 1

    2) I wanted to be sure I have the ownership of the L10 data sets before subscriptions start. I did not purchase and resources, only the data sets.

Yes, I did reluctantly upgraded to Logos 10, but only because there was an opportunity to add some books that I desired / needed available at a good price in the upgrade.  For me, the decision to upgrade is all about the books.  New features do not appeal to me.

I wanted the latest version without all the new features without all the package books.  And I like to support the upgrades to keep them financially healthy.  I add books whenever I see one I like or a good deal.

It's critical that we're building solutions that you love and can't afford to be without.

To help us make sure we're doing that as effectively as possible, would you take a minute and answer these two questions?

    1. Have you purchased an L10 upgrade (the free basic update doesn't count)?
      1. yes
      2. no but I plan to
      3. no and I'm undecided
      4. no and I plan not to
    2. What's the primary reason for your upgrade decision?

    Thank you!

           1. Yes I have. I purchased Logos 10 Baptist Silver and then purchased the Full feature upgrade

           2. Well, I was a long time user of WORDsearch Bible software and liked it very much. When they sold out to Logos I took the dive and I was                   pleasantly surprised at its functionality. The way that all my books were integrated into the Logos system in a timely manner was                               impressive.  I have upgraded several times I think twice since coming from WORDsearch. I do purchase books that I am interested in and                 look forward to new features as they come along. One thing I like being is being able to purchase features as well as books. The dynamic                 pricing has made my Logos purchases affordable. With the subscription model you are proposing concerns me greatly. I am at a point in                   my life that this new model puts new Logos features out of reach for me. As long as I keep what I have in features I will be happy and I will               continue to purchase books that interest me and will fulfill my needs as a retired but still preaching Pastor Emeritus.

    1. Yes.

    2. I upgrade because I want to stay current on features. I don't necessarily need to--I don't use the majority of Logos tools & features--but my needs may change in the future, and I don't want to be behind and potentially suddenly have to pay a lot to get current. With L10, it was the print library feature that most attracted me to get a full feature upgrade. I had no real reason to wait.

That's my reasoning, which actually probably works more to your (i.e., FaithLife's) benefit than mine.

What Sean said. I enjoy the print library part since I have lots of those.

    1 - no

2 - I shouldn't have to purchase upgrades to software platforms

I bought Libronix 20 years ago.  With the constant upgrades, I'm not even sure I got my full library I had back then. The system CONSTANTLY wants to index my library when I haven't purchased a new book...really ever.  (I'm not really a power user, lol)

I like the basic Bible study tools, but as I get ready to possibly update to 10, I'm checking on what that actually gets me.

    1. Yes - through FLC

    2. I don't remember which features specifically, but I know the print library thing was a hug sell for me, especially in how it would tell you where in the book, even giving a little of the surrounding paragraph/context so you'd know if it was worthwhile finding the book on your shelf (or in my case, in a box).

Too late. Subscription is the new direction for Logos as of Oct 21. You will undoubtedly have Q's about this, but create a new thread for that.

    @Ben,

Adding to what Dave wrote: The very last chance to get a 10 library (or / including a Feature Set) is this weekend or next week, prior to the Verbum subscription launch at 11/11: https://verbum.com/compare/packages/Verbum

EDIT: I saw today that the Logos 10 denominational libraries have been put up again - if I have seen this correct, they are now libraries without feature sets (like the Logos 5 through 9 Legacy Libraries). Those libraries are seemingly available to non-subscribers - the store search shows them to me (in logged-out-state) only when searching quite directly, such as "Logos 10 Gold" or "Logos 10 Baptist" with the quotes in the search.

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

    Yes, I did.

But I upgraded solely to add some of the books in the packages, and hopefully a bit more speed in the program.  That is the same reason I have bought several legacy packages.

As I have too often stated, I will not be buying a subscription package.

Years ago I purchased Bible Explorer it had all of the commentaries I wanted and was very simple to use. I could easily set up windows for my Bibles, Commentaries, word search resources and misc. resources. Unfortunately the original cd and unlock floppy have been lost through the years as well as the books I owned on Quickverse. I was able to recover most of the lost books when everything was bought out by Lifeway and they worked with me to recover everything and it worked like I was used to. Now Logos has purchased Wordsearch and discontinued it. In it's place is a complicated program that doesn't do what I want, I can't find one of my favorite commentary sets and yet Logos wants me to spend additional money for what?

Hi Matthew, you should have access to everything you owned in Wordsearch. If you are missing a commentary you owned, definitely email cs@logos.com and get customer service to fix it. If you need help setting up Logos to do what you need, there are lots of users who would be happy to help. You will probably get more responses if you make a new thread were you explain what you want to do that is too complicated and maybe we can help you find an easier way.
