How to add and change Bible translations

I downloaded the latest Logos 10 (v40.2.4) on Windows, using Free version just for personal study, and I am finding it extremely difficult to change the Top Bible, or add any translations . I attempted the command in the "Passage or Topic" command box:

set preferred bible to nasb

It acts like I am trying to search for passages with those words. Clicking the Library there is a lot of stuff in there, but as far as english Bibles, I only see CSB, ESV, ASV, KJV, not ones I read. After a couple of hours youtubing and sifting through the logos site I am at a complete loss, I dont understand how a Bible study app is so hard to perform its primary purpose. Many comments on youtube voicing the same thing.

After further stumbling I see this a limitation of the free version. You must purchase any other translations you want. It is very frustrating to finally get to this point, none of the documentation mentions this such as the one off videos on how to set the Top Bible, in fact many people comment on the same video on youtube and the Logos channel never points them in the right direction other than "works for us".

If you type the suggested command it should mention something like "This was not found in your library, you need to buy it". Or better yet, mention this in any documentation that refers to changing translations.

While it does not resolve your issue, note that when the command cannot be selected from the pick list for the command box, you know that either your typing is incorrect or that the command cannot be executes. I suspect this bit of knowledge is assumed and, therefore, the documentation you expected was not added.

I agree that being more explicit is a good idea.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Where is the screen shot from? What is "Verbum"? It still does not show how to change the default translation to NASB or load or access other versions of the Bible like the Amplified. I am going through the first hours of tutorials and this is so frustrating I am about to just quit and go back to my previous software.

@George Narr you do not currently own the NASB. You would have to first purchase that translation (or others) from the store: https://www.logos.com/product/198302/the-new-american-standard-bible-2020-update

You can use the Library tool in the application to view all of the books that you currently own. There you can use the sidebar to filter the book type to just Bibles.
