What exactly did this coupon do?

I used this coupon code about four or five days ago, but nothing happened. I put it in my cart, and the cart accepted it, but it did not reduce my purchase by 5%. So, I assumed "5% back" must mean that I would get a follow-up email with 5% of the amount of my purchase in a new rebate coupon code. But I haven't received anything.

What exactly did/does this coupon do and when can I expect to receive anything from having used it? I've never seen "5% back" as a promotion promise before, so I don't know what Logos/Verbum imagines it doing, or if it functioned right.

@Br Damien-Joseph OSB, thanks for the context. Looks like that banner was lacking the necessary logic to only show to eligible users. Thanks for the report.

To my understanding, it is not a 5% discount but an annual certificate based upon 5% of all your purchases for the previous calendar year. Thus, you would have received it, assuming you were subscribed previously which would of led to them giving you a certificate to use on a purchase by the given date.

My certificate was for about $40 which i was able to use. I am not sure if there is a minimum amount required for the cart when i used it. I hope that helps.

Weird. So you have to have been a subscriber? As a non-subscriber, how did I receive this coupon? And why wasn't any of this information available in the email where I was given this coupon?

I believe it was for subscribers only. I could be wrong. I think their email system is not the best as it will often send offers for books and resources we already own. Sorry about that. I hope someone from Logos can chime in to clarify.

I don't know how/why you received the coupon but yes the 5% coupon is for Pro/Max subscribers only. Subscribers get back a portion of what they spend for the year as a coupon code valued at that amount.

    Hi @Br Damien-Joseph OSB,

I looked into your account, and I didn't see anything that showed you should have been included in the email sends. Looking into this with our email team. Was the whole email you received about the reward coupon, or did was it just a footer/ad banner in the email?

It was an ad banner, which was in numerous emails I've received in the past couple of weeks.

You can see the banner in the OP

That coupon is the 5% "cash" back reward that subscribers receive. Once a year, they get a coupon that is equivalent to 5% of their purchases throughout the previous year. They received it in the form of a coupon code to take off of a future purchase, with some limitations. Check the subscription perks, which someone posted a link to above.
