I may not be looking at the Atlas right…. I have Windows 11, 24 gig ram, 1 TB ssd disk. Using the Atlas works well for me. Loads quickly, changes maps quickly. While the maps could be enhanced, the feature works well as far as I can see. I loaded Atlas up (as I have before) bounced around from map to map… quickly, no issues. I also have a layout open with about 10 resources open. No problem.

I closed and opened Atlas a few times…. and bounced around the maps. Again, no problem. Just saying…

Edit: I am running Logos version 41.2.5.

I have a state-of-the-art Dell XPS with 3840X2400 resolution. Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD, AI PC Geforce RTX 4070. I have moderately good internet speed. Honestly, the atlas works quite well. Speedy. Cool.

My other very good, well-above-average laptop with lesser specs….forget it.

At home: Windows 11; Desktop App: Verbum 41.2.5

i5-14400 2.50 GHz; 16GB RAM; 1TB SSD; medium Internet connection

    → Atlas works fine

    Abroad: Web-App

    → Atlas is awfully slow

Works great on Verbum/M4 Max Macbook Pro (albeit a powerful laptop) - no complaints at all. Map switching, panning, moving around the map are as instantaneous as it gets.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have tested the Atlas on 3 different computers. 2x Win 11, 1x Win 10. Different configurations but always very powerful computers. While the Atlas is extremely fast in the WebApp, it is extremely slow in the desktop app. Sometimes so slow that I have to wait until a zoom operation is finished before Logos becomes responsive again. It is a mystery to me how it is supposed to run well on your computer. Incidentally, the maps in my video were all preloaded. When I open Logos fresh, all the valleys and hills are built up over several seconds. I hope there is still a solution for me.

@Pitrell Sorry about your issue. And I don't understand. I am using Desktop app in Windows 11 on a computer with 24 gb ram and 1 ssd disk… On my system, Atlas works very well responds quickly. No issues with that from me. I have VS Studio running, Ultra Search, Tiny Take, Firefox, and some others running…. still no issue with Atlas.

Given that you are not working on an old machine, and not running a bunch of programs that are resource hogs, and you are on latest Logos version, which is 41.2.5, then it would cause me think that there is a difference in the system settings or Logos settings somewhere. In Logos settings…. I have "Enable Hardware Acceleration" set to "Yes". I have tried it by setting that setting to "No" and I can see a bit of a slow down, but not bad enough to fuss about for me. Which would lead me to think that maybe you have something different than me in your Windows 11 settings. And remember…. I'm not a Windows MVP… But if I were you, I would look at my Windows settings.

Edit: It could be that you have a slow graphics card which might make a difference when showing maps and pictures. Just an afterthought.

Congratulations! I have the processor version 7 and video 4060, but also that seems to work fine. Internet 50 Mbit/s. I plan to test this also in my log cabin next week, where the internet speed is lower: 5-10 Mbit/s.

I have a seven year old Lenovo P70 workbook. 16MB RAM, 2 GB SSD, a Zeon processor, an NVIDIA Quattro M3000M graphics processor with 4GB RAM, running WIN 10, and Atlas seems to work just fine, speed-wise. Your case is curious.

Can you check performance in the task manager while you are using the Atlas?
