Mobile app on iPadOS will not open if not connected to internet

I am on the subscription plan and I found out that the app will not open on the iPad if it’s not connected to the internet. It used to be able to before I went on the subscription model. Is there some setting that I need to change before I can use the app in offline mode?

this morning, after the recent update, I was connected to the Internet and I had the same issue. I force quitted the app, rebooted my iPad, and then it started working again.

The only way the iPad can connect is if you are using a direct connection to the presentation computer. See 'Settings - Remote - Direct Connection over local - wi-fi'.
Has somebody disabled this on the presentation computer?

Appreciate your response. Perhaps, I was not clear in my question — I meant that when I disconnect the iPad from the wifi/internet, the mobile app could not open. It used to be able before the app was updated to v42.0.0.
Anyways, the issue has been resolved — Mattillo suggested restarting the device. And this has worked. Many thanks to both.
