notes glitch

this has happened before, so I tried to be careful, but I wasn't careful enough.
Logos says I have 116,000 notes including highlights
So a given verse may have two, three notes plus highlighting.
I had a verse where one word seemed to be in bold.
I didn't see why I might have done that, so I thought I would undo that. I highlighted the word, and the menu showed me I could delete it.
I did and two real notes disappeared too.
And those notes didn't appear in the trash or undo with Control-Z.
So I have no idea what was in the notes I lost and no way to get them back.
So it seems if I have highlighted something, I should just leave them alone. Never undo a highlight unless there is nothing around anywhere close

I created three notes on successive portions of text, highlighted (underlined) the whole text covered by the 3 notes, and performed a bold highlight on one word (admission).
Then I selected the word and clicked "Delete notes and highlights" in the Context menu:
I lost the third note and the underline highlight in addition to the highlighted word! But all three were in Trash, so I could recreate the original note and highlighting:
When I deleted the highlighted word in the Notes tool nothing else was removed.
I could not reproduce deleted notes/highlighting not appearing in Trash. So the "lesson" is always delete in the Notes tool when there are overlapping notes/highlights.
EDIT: This is strictly a Bug report (not an Idea) but the forum software won't allow it to be moved to the English Forum as a Discussion.

thank you, Dave
I will check this out later. It's the middle of the night
BUT if a function can be performed in multiple ways, but some ways have glitches, we shouldn't expect everybody trying the glitched way to have to go on a forum to find an unglitched way.
Did I miss the BUG forum? I looked. It says suggest improvement. Is that another bug?

They should report it as a bug and/or ask about it, and then be informed that there is a safe way!

It is now in the Bug forum (English Forum) with Tags to indicate its applicability. An improvement is an idea for a better way (where there is no bug/glitch)..
