I set all of them to "verse" yet CSB,HCSB, Lexham English Bible ,NET to name a few, jump ahead instead of smooth, controlled scrolling
It sounds likely that you have these books in paginated mode.
Ctrl-Shift-P toggles this option. You can also toggle it (or change the options for it) in the View toolbar under "Paged view".
