As a result of the forced Windows 11 upgrade, I've had to reinstall the logos application. In the process of this despite the setup program supposedly allowing for an entire library download, I could not get it to work. However, the program did indicate the library correctly and began doing the infamous 100 book per download process.
I don't have a complaint about logos products. My comment is more an observation and asking for assistance to my current dilemma. I have looked at other people's posts and it posted in the beta forum comment along with many others about this being an issue and the issue being unresolved. I'm now posting in the hopes that somebody can at least provide me with an answer to the following situation:
Upon doing a new install, the setup program completed correctly but the ability to did not appear or did not work. So the first question I have is is there a switch for commandline purposes to use the logosetup.exe file for a forced download? I doubt there is but it's worth a shot asking. Assuming that there is no switch available, is it possible to override the 100 book limitation download as a part use of the logos program itself? Again, I don't think that would be possible from what I have seen. So my third and final question is would the developers consider removing the 100 book limitation for downloads occurring say between 1 AM and 6 AM in a time zone from now until post Windows 11 due dates occur (e.g. October 15, 2025)? My library size is almost 27,000 resources. You can see it 100 per download not only will this take time, but in a sense it is unfair because these are books that I own and should be able to access and bring down locally to use. Also, several times in the download processes the download will error out and I have to restart by closing the error message at the top of the screen( that yellow gold bar).
This is definitely an issue to expect in the coming months ahead. Tech Support, Product Development departments need to come up with a solution for users. My guess is many logos users will be faced with a new download scenario to new hardware such as I was. I think this limitation also applies to the base packages as well.
The solution may be as simple as adjusting the setup program to force a library download rather than ask. Allowing a rerunning of the install program currently does not work either. the setup program blocks and stops the process from getting to the download options again.
Any suggestions are appreciated as well as any thoughts on how to attempt to mitigate this.
