Visual filters not activating

I can no longer activate visual filters in various resources after I turn them off. Screenshot shows it for the Scrivener New Testament and after I turned it off in my AV it no longer allows me either! Very frustrating! The option is there, but clicking on the grey slider bar does nothing.

I should add, I have tried all the usual things, opening and closing logos. opening and closing the resources etc.

Try shift-click on the Visual Filter icon
