Bumping pre-orders

I said before, and I'll insist on this point: Logos bumping the release of pre-ordered books is bordering on bad practice. I looked less than 12 hours ago on my pre-orders, and there was only one book scheduled for the rest of the month. I got an e-mail about an unscheduled release today and there's one more for tomorrow with no prior notice about it's new date of release, not even a one day ahead notice. That's not good! It can lead to financial problems or the loss of a good discount, since I may have to cancel them.

Don't 'bump' releases without notice! Don't bump releases out of the blue (those books, for example, were not scheduled to be released anytime soon) with no time to make a decision about keeping them.

It's great to have books sooner, but not without warning or planning. I have many pre-ordered and like to keep an eye on how many I can buy each month. That depends on Logos' good practices of early warnings (that I'm not getting for some time now) and some time before releasing them so I can check my finances. This new practice of releasing books without warning is another example of things getting shady on Logos' practices. Please, get you act together.

Yes, shady. Books used to be released with some weeks notice. Now, books that weren't even scheduled are released out of the blue without any warning. I understand that when they gave some 2 weeks notice, customers could cancel and delay release (maybe even prevent its release), and that's sad. But releasing them without notice is not a great, clean solution. They should give any book some date of release and some warning, not jump from 'in production' to charge and release. That's a shady change of business practice, in my opinion.

I did. Sadly, it's not the case of spam.

Books used to go from "in production" to having a release date. Some still do, of course. Lately, some books go straight from "in production" to being released. No notice, no time to decide to keep it or not during a busy release season, nothing. Straight to charging my credit card after being in production limbo.

That's not acceptable. All books should go through the same process and get a release date, notify users, and appear as so in the "open pre-orders" page. Otherwise, it's potentially damaging and certainly not the best practice.

I have to agree with you Mateus de Castro! I've had prepubs. that suddenly appear, forcing me to scramble to hustle and get the money into my account or suffer fees. Please give us a heads up whenever a resource is about to "go live"!

Since there's no way to get updates on the state of production of every book, this could be solved if Logos enforced a simple rule: no book is released without two weeks notice. After the 'in production' phase, they must get a release date no sooner than 2 weeks from being ready so the customers can check their 'open pre-orders' page and decide which ones they keep or, if too many are released together, which ones they cancel, if (sadly) necessary.
