System requirements to run LOGOS 9

As we are being told PC uses need to update to run windows 11, so I likely need a new computer. The largest program I run is Logos 9. If anyone can give me insights please. I am presently running on a 4 year old HP Probook happly. I have looked up the logos required specs on line. I intend to stay with a PC. Thank you, Peter.

Are you actually running Logos 9? The current version is Logos 45 and version 9 is no longer supported.

When you refer to looking at the Logos required specs, do you mean the recommended specs shown here? If so, please clarify what additional information or insight you are looking for.

Hello Graham, thank you for your support. I looked at my LOGOS and it says v45.1. LOGOS clases my version as a free version 9. I bought 'Quick verse' which became 'Wordsearch' becoming LOGOS. It is referred to as LOGOS 9 free.

I'm just buying a new computer and wanting to not over pay for too flash a unit.

If you are currently running Windows 10 and running the latest Logos you can continue to use it as you have been. It will just stop updating and will not be officially supported.

But there is no reason to buy a new computer if Logos is running ok for you …

If you think it is important to stay current with Logos, then Windows 11 is the required move. Have you checked to see if your current PC can update to Windows 11?

It's worth checking to see if your current computer can officially be upgraded to Windows 11. I think there's a reasonably good chance it can be upgraded if it's only for years old. If you click on the Windows Start menu (or press the Windows key on the keyboard), then type "check", you should see an option to "Check for Updates". Select that, and hopefully you'll see a message to start the upgrade.

In the past few months, I've upgraded three old computer to Windows 11, using an unsupported hack. One is about 12 years old, one is a about 10 years old, and the newest one about 8 years old. The 10 year old computer is my main computer that I use Logos on. The two newer ones run Logos reasonably well, and I have about 6,000 books.
