How can I quickly find a notebook?

I have a lot of notes and also a lot of notebooks. Sometimes if I open the generic "Notes" I want to quickly find a specific notebook. Let's just say I want to find "Nov Prophets" or whatever.

So I open the Notes and go to the search bar and type "Nov Prophets" but it does not bring the notebook to the forefront. To the right it brings up a bunch of notes in that notebook (I assume… the notes don't actually list their notebook in this view…), but the actual list of to the left remains static, and the ONLY way I can get to the folder is to manually scroll down with my mouse until I get to the "N" section of the notebooks.

While I understand I can start important folders with a "1" or an "A" or something to force sort it, these are not notebooks I want to mark for extra attention, I just want to be able to quickly find the notebook without needing to scroll past 50 or so folders. Is this possible?

In the notes tool:

Click the notebook icon
Click the search icon and enter (part of) the title of the notebook in the search bar

That should give you what you are looking for.

As a new Logosian, this is the best I could come up with 😅:

You could pin your most important notes as favorites and even add them to your toolbar.

First, open the notes tool and also the favorites tool
Create a folder in your favorites and name it.
In the Notes tool, go to the notebook you want to pin and make sure it is selected.
Then in the Favorites tool, top left, click on the "Add" button and select the open notebook to add it to your favorites.
You can then pin the favorites panel to your toolbar for easy access or even the individual notes.

Hi @SavedbyGrace, Thank you for your response, and I can see how that would help in certain circumstances. The situation I am in, however, is how to quickly find any notebook, even ones which are not favorites.

I think a good example is that I have a lot of notebooks, and I was trying to find out if I already had a notebook called "Numbers" or not. So I opened the search and typed "Numbers" and a bunch of notes appear to the right, but as mentioned, it doesn't clarify the notebook.

So then I just sat there and manually scrolled and scrolled and scrolled down the notebooks until I finally got to the "N" section. I then saw I did not have "Numbers" and created it.

Further, the next time I open the notes, and let's say I want to change "Numbers" to "Numbers Fall 25" or whatever, the ONLY way to get to the notebook is to manually scroll through dozens of notebooks.

So the situation isn't regarding a specific notebook, it is just needing to be able to quickly locate any notebook. It appears that just scrolling up and down is the only way, which is not efficient.

I am sorry I didn't see your response until just now, but yes, that worked, thank you! I had been trying to use the larger search on top, but when I used that little search under it, it finally found the notebook. Thank you for clarifying this.
