Touchscreen MacBook may finally be on the way

Apple is working on a new version of the MacBook Pro with an OLED display, a hole punch camera, and touch screen functionality, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said today. The updated ‌MacBook Pro‌ is set to launch sometime between late 2026 and early 2027.

Still a long way off, but good news that the rumors seem to be coming from credible sources this time. Logos users who wanted the full desktop version of the software along with the added benefit of a touchscreen had no choice other than Windows. Very exciting that this is finally going to change …

Many will be buying new computers in the near future. Many are being forced to upgrade to Windows 11. And there are usually some good deals to be found in the coming commercialized holiday season. Waiting for this to finally arrive before buying anything new is my plan 😎

Not an expert but seems like to better run mobile on a mac, and visa versa? Would be unique to Apple.

@DMB Not sure what you mean. Macs with Apple Silicon Can run iOS or iPadOS apps with the requirement that they are downloaded from the Apple Store and said to run on the Mac and I am not sure whether Logos has done this.

if Logos has their mobile app in the store for the Mac then you could run Mobile side-by-side with the full Logos desktop software. Not sure what kind of experience you would have with using the mobile app on the desktop without a touchscreen.

I hope Apple never makes a desktop or laptop with a touchscreen. Keep it to iPhones and iPads.

I was speaking more from inter-operability as a developer. True, currently some mobile apps can run on the Mac, but the opposite direction would be the biggie. Competitors could not match.

The Logos mobile app used to load on the Mac. Worked great until I deleted it and it emptied out the Logos desktop Mac directory too! Disaster. Same name. I think FL removed the mobile download from the Mac.

Not sure why you would be against it? They will probably continue selling cheaper models without the touchscreen. It’s all just speculation at this point, but it’s supposed to be just the MacBook Pro that gets the OLED touchscreen.

I also tried loading the mobile app on my Apple Silicon Mac once. It worked, but it was confusing since it was easy to wipe out your Logos desktop library if you removed it.

Same thing happened to me when I tried running both Accordance desktop and mobile on my Apple Silicon Mac. The worst news was it was a day I needed to teach a webinar. :-) I was able to quickly restore from a Time Machine backup.
