Logos Thinks My Network Has a Problem. (+ a profanity problem)

Logos sold me a profanity-laced book (think the worst words you can think of). Logos would not let me return the book because my order was a smidgen over 30 days old. Fair enough. But now I have this junk in my library. Distaste is growing. My confidence in Logos' quality isn't there anymore.

But here is the real reason for this post: I don't seem able to use chat because Logos thinks my network has a problem.

(This may be a sort of double-post, because sometimes my posts evaporate into ether.)

I just wish Logos would fix broken stuff instead of forever investing in dramatic new ways to present ads.

To add… no need to post the title here but I do hope you at least left a short review on the book letting others know about the content… Might save someone else the same issue.

I haven't yet, but thanks. Sadly (?), I love much of the content of the book, other than that. But I may wait, as Logos sometimes removes books from the store that slip through the filter and are inappropriate. I expect that will happen in this case.

There is a way to hide the book in your library since you can't return it. At least it won't show up in your library.

I would have thought they'd have some sort of autosearch that's run on new books to see if they contain certain words, and then if they do, a real live person has to take a quick look to see if the book is something Logos wants carry, rather than just automatically making anything and everything available for purchase.

Hidden books still show up in the web app. You can ask Customer Service to lock the book out of your account.

They do use a filter for this. How this book slipped through, I can't imagine. I might make the wild presumption that the book failed the filter and a Logos person approved it anyway. Let's hope not. Things slip through. A more likely wild assumption is that the filter was shut off that one day. I am 100% sure that if I posted the content on this forum, I would get banned for eternity.

Maybe a year ago—not sure, about the time Logos first began mass-importing without regard for quality or content, I picked up a cute title for my wife as a gift. Turned out to be wretched filth. She was appalled. At that time, Logos apologized, assured me better filters were in place, and returned my $$.

I have informed Logos of the profanity, cursing, and glamorizing LSD use problem and received no response regarding that (except: "We are sorry the book is not to your liking"). And no, we aren't talking about reading from the enemy as a creative resource to study theology. This isn't even close to that. Maybe we are further down the high-speed slippery slope than we knew.

I wish to clearly state my respect for Logos. They went above and beyond (as usual)—they cleaned my library and restored my confidence. Amazing how much better that feels. Do you feel it too?

Logos removed the book from my account, and the book is no longer in the store. Personally, I value that. While they had no obligation to do so (and I did not ask for it), they even returned my money.

Mishaps occur. But Logos truly is a good company with an amazing product.
