Sermon Manager Issue

I am not from a liturgical church (no disrespect those who are), but have found a good use for the liturgical day section in sermon manager. I put things like communion, elder installation, child dedication, baptism, etc. on that day to remind me we are doing that on that Sunday.

The problem is when I move a sermon to a different date. I want what I put in that "liturgical" day to stay on that day. For example, if I move Sermon XYZ to another week and communion is on that day, I don't want communion to move with it. I want those days locked in.

Is there a better way to do what I'm doing? I move sermons around quite often and recently messed up communion because of this.

Coming from a liturgical tradition and having an obsession with liturgical traditions, i would look towards some anabaptist calendars that are filled with things like children's day, Sunday school teacher recognition day, … I would make a PB lectionary, with the dates for communion, dedication, baptism … and use it as my liturgical calendar which separates it from the sermons in the sermon manager. It would be worth making a PB template for pastors to use in this way.

If you set up events - such as Communion - as a separate sermon event then it will stay on the original date even if you move the actual sermon that was scheduled for that day.

Does that work for you at all?

Sorry @Jerry Bush - that was poor terminology from me.

I was wondering if you could add Communion as a sermon in Sermon Manager so that when you looked at a particular day you would see the actual sermon for that day, that communion was scheduled and anything else.

I know it's not how it is designed to be used but it could give you what I think you are looking for.
