Bias in Theology

There is a lot I like in the new AI tool. It makes Logos more accessible. I have been doing research using other AI tools on the market. However, I have test it by taking more controversial subjects (like END TIMES) and it shows a definite Reform or Pre-Trib bias in the books it references and I have the MAX subscription. I do like the change to buy articles or portion of articles and I like the opportunity where I will see a book costs $43 but it is included in a package that I can add for $15… I appreciate that. When I tell it to summarize all the previous questions and responses into one paper it struggles with that. I do appreciate the fact I can download many of my technical papers I have already written and get comments from other scholar's sources. I am looking for a way for it to keep track of conversations like Gemini does.

I wonder if the bias — when it goes to books generally on Logos.com — comes from the fact that that's just how their product offerings are overwhelmingly slanted.

No doubt and I understand the economics and the marketing behind it. Reformed Theology and Pre-Trib theology are hot and there are a preponderance of books. I am Reformed in the sense Wesley considered himself Reformed but it does not meet today's Reformed Definition. I am a Wesleyan-Arminian in theology and Pre-mil/Pre-Wrath-Post-Trib as were the early Church Fathers. I don't fault Logos, I realize they have to make a living. I have just noticed that in other AI platforms I get a broader base of contacts. I would like to see that broader base in Logos AI as they develop it.

Yes, I get that. But the Logos AI is wholly dependent upon what books are there (either in your library or at logos.com. It's lack of theological balance is not a product of the code itself.

I agree with you but would go even further - the Bible study methods that Logos supports well add to the bias. I suspect that design sessions don't even include a conscious attempt to look at the tool from the perspective of other theologies/hermeneutics.

Well, if I were FL, it would/should be code-based. Selection of the learning or meta-learning sources is an art, itself (customers, cross-refs, subject depth, etc).

But likely use-sorts.
