Tag Lists?

I've got over 20,000 books. I'm looking for a way to add tags without having to do any work…. … … Seriously, though, it would be a great help if there were any existing tags lists out there anywhere that might help reduce the load a bit. I'd also appreciate any suggestions on how to even further lighten the load, such as perhaps some library search terms that might help gather groups of books where each book in the group would be a candidate for the same tag, for example, "all books which are to be tagged exegetical".

Formulas that work as a collection will also work in the library to locate the same books. You can then select them all and tag them. I did this for the commentary types and several others. Faithlife.com has some groups that share collection formulas that may help as well.

In addition you can search your library by author to form collections, by type to tag your encyclopedias, study bibles, theology resources etc.

The most challenging are the monographs. You will just need to spend some time going through those. You will also discover some gems that you probably forgot you had.

There is a long thread that contains documents to tag Commentaries. I use it and it is very helpful.

I think you really need to determine why you want to tag them (how you plan to use the tags). Between 'type' and 'subject' in the Library, there's already quite a bit of distinctions available.

I do tag all mine. Near the beginning, I use general tags (eg 'Articles', 'MapsCharts', etc), since the process can be mind-numbing. Then, a bite at a time, break I them down further (eg ArticlesNT), then (eg ArticlesNTTheology), then (eg ArticlesNTTheologyResurrection).
