interesting… I never really thought about the universities loosing access to their own content/research. I am glad the universities are finding a remedy. I remember the days of being a broke student and using my university library card to access almost anything….. that was such a blessing….. but I am sure it was included in the tuition fees. I also had to pay hundreds of dollars for text books each semester only to have them be declared outdated the following semester. …. LOL.
I agree that ebooks are not very profitable for a publisher so hopefully licensing will remain affordable so universities won’t have to become free publishers of their own content 😭. Thanks for sharing.
