Question: Why are there so many different types of search? Does "All Search" include results from all the other search types?
Specifically, what do "Factbook Search" and "Factbook Tags Search" do?
From the Logos helpfile
Factbook Search:
This search returns all of the Factbook articles that match the search term. Click one to open the associated Factbook article.
Logos Help (Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2024).
Factbook Tags Search:
This section shows all of the user’s resources containing a Factbook tag matching the search term. Open a resource entry to show where the tag appears in the resource and click a result to open the resource to that location. If the Factbook Visual Filter is enabled, click the tag to open the Factbook to the relevant article (or to a list of matching articles).
And, no, these are not all included in the All Search
Unfortunately, there are relevant terms lacking Factbook Tags (for a recent example see here).
Thank you, Graham!
According to ChatGPT "Smart" search can search personal books (with some limitations) if they have been created from a .docx file. However when I try a "smart" search on a few personal books Logos automatically switches to "precise"search with the message: "Switched to Precise search because you searched Personal Books."…
After a recent windows 11 update, and Logos application update, the behavior of ref.ly links changed so that the web app is being displayed in addition to the the desktop app. I checked the "Apps for websites" system setting and there isn't an entry for Logos. I ran the script on the forum that edits the registry to fix…
I have really found the Smart Search useful. My workflow sometimes includes copying the results to an Apple Pages document and then looking up some of the links at a later date. Admittedly, it is much easier looking them up when the search tab is still open. The problem comes with one of the two links that happen when…
Maybe once a week or so I get a pop-up from my Mac saying that Logos is trying to search for local networks. So I just click "don't allow" and it goes away until the next time I get the pop-up. Logos has internet connection and is syncing without an issue, so what is this? It isn't a big deal, I am mainly just curious.
I've been setting myself up with a freebie account so I don't always answer as if everyone had my tools and library. On playing with it, I found a NEW feature that I had heard of but never seen: I never have a resource in a wide enough panel for the new to show; it does not show if one has more as I usually do. This means…
