I‘ve heard in a german webinar, that it‘s the plan, to transfer all the guides step by step into the Factbook. It‘s a great idea and I love the new Factbook, but please keep the Passage Guide a separate guide.
I don't know anything about plans to move the Passage Guide into the Factbook but interested to understand your concerns more fully.
Assuming all the functionality of the Passage Guide were available in the Factbook, what would be the issue in making this transition?
One thing I am aware of is that Guides are customisable and the Factbook is not. Is that your concern or is there something else?
Does Factbook have access to Personal Books? I believe that would be a shortcoming.

customization is very important. In addition the PG directs my work flow and has for many years. I have many collections added as well as commentaries categorized my way. Develop Facebook but leave the guides.
Yes! Leave the guides. I have made extensive use of the customization available in guides, and Factbook's lack of customization is disappointing. Its like, "We know how to study the Bible better than you do; conform or else."
The FB loads WAY too much stuff for what we need in a PG or EG. While I absolutely hate the IQ-lowering ads from Liberty Mutual insurance, their tagline is spot-on: Only pay for what you need. Logos should only load what we need.

FB is ones garage. FL just sticks more stuff in the Logos garage. But I'm guessing they like it. And many Logosians too. I don't … it never delivers much ('no results'). The guides deliver.
It's funny, @Fabian Jovanovic, but just yesterday I was opening a PG and wondering to myself when it would become part of the Factbook, hoping it would not happen.

I can see potential savings in maintenance costs and in cost to implement new features. Being unable to access guide sections independently and lost in functionality make me cautious of any move of the main guides to Factbook. But with the right enhancements, especially more complete and accurate tagging, I could become a fan. I'll wait and see how things are shaping up before getting concerned.

Completely agree - I’ve customised the Passage Guide and Exegetical Guide extensively to match my workflow so putting them into the Factbook without the ability to do that customisation as a minimum would be a major backwards step.
I don't mind the guides going in the Factbook as long as we do not lose the customisation functionality.
I would not want o lose any of the functionality or customization that we have in Passage Guide. It is my bread and butter tool in Logos. I am praying that they leave it as is and it doesn't become incorporated into FB. FB has its use but the workflow with passage guide is spot on IMO.
Passage Guide is a feature that has been paid for by customers who have purchased the feature set (Logos 10 and earlier). I'm betting that this feature will be folded into one of the features that require subscription. It will then be marketed as a vast improvement compared to before. Eventually Passage Guide will be deprecated because it is now part of a subscription only feature. And the people who own the feature sets (and hence the Passage Guide) will be forced to subscribe! It will come true in < 5 years. Morals are not the strong suit of PE investors.
This is one of the ways the the firm makes money from existing customers who can't run to another software because they've spent so much money on this platform. This is called "holdup problem" in finance. It is well known.

Based on Cove Hill's fund lives.
Based on my colleague who does research on PE, some of the smaller private firms gets sold to other PE investors. So Cove Hill will prep Logos to sell to another PE. I've also personally seen this happen. One of my friends at church was a CEO of a firm that was owned by a PE investor. His firm got sold to another PE firm in about 5 years and he then retired as the CEO.
bottom line: Not 15 years, but much much shorter.
Don't worry. We don't have immediate plans to merge the main Guides (Passage, Exegetical, Bible Word Study) into Factbook. And if we were ever to do that, we know that the ability to customize Guides is one of their most valuable features.

Mark: The concern is that Logos will fold the Passage Guide that (has been paid for by Logos 10 Feature set owners) into Factbook (which will be accessible only by subscription) and then Passage Guide will be deprecated later. This will effectively strip the Feature set owners of a feature that has been paid for. Can you please come out and flat out say that will not happen.

Not that I know of now. But the days of Bob Pritchett (founder of Logos) is over. This is PE world now. PE investors have no scruples when it comes to screwing customers. Only thing that matters is profits.
I'm still waiting for @Mark Barnes (Logos) to confirm what I asked for above.
We've actually done the opposite, and that sets the pattern for what would happen in the future if we ever merged additional Guides into Factbook (which, as I've said, we don't have immediate plans for).
Counseling Guide and Theology Guide were previously available only to L10 owners. When we merged them into Factbook, we brought the Counseling and Theology lenses to everyone (not just L10 owners, and not just subscribers).
Some sections that were previously only available in the Counseling and Theology Guide are now available to everyone. That wasn't true for every section, but it was for some. For the sections that weren't made available to everyone, they were made available to subscribers and people who had purchased Counseling or Theology Guides but who weren't subscribers.
No one lost access to any data as a result of the change because we continued to respect L10 and earlier licenses (even as a feature changed and improved). Many people even gained access to data they hadn't previously paid for (e.g., the Counseling Resource section)! That's the pattern we've set, and I mean to continue that pattern in the future.
PS — For @DMB When I say, "we don't have immediate plans" for something, it means that it's not on our roadmap (which is generally pencilled out 6-12 months ahead), but it is on our very long list of "ideas of things we might do one day". But there are a LOT of things on that long list, and only about 10% of them will probably get done.

Obviously, I'm not Mark. But when I click on the @dmb in his message, it brings up the dmb-me (my email etc). So, I ASSUME his use was correct.
The problem seems to occur in the forum software, notifying dmb-you? Just guessing.
