Till now, I've happily subscribed to all the Logos emails to secure that (formerly) sweet sweet birthday month coupon. I am finallyseriously reconsidering that choice.
It's amazing they do so many … contract out staffing, or maybe they keep 20-30 in reserve.
Trending … hmmm.
Wow. That's a bunch.
When you first said it's not Spam, it's Logos, I was imaging a can of Spam but with the Logos branding on it.
I'm feeling left out now. I don't get any 🤣
Did you contact CS? Have have the same problem (no newsletter etc.) and they are working on it.
The thing is, when I get a few emails a week, I open and at least glance through them.
When I get this many all at once, they're just summarily deleted.
Previously, when less frequent, these mails would result in a few purchases a year, and I'd get my birthday month coupon. It was win-win. Now I can't remember the last time I bought a book from Logos in response to a mail.
One pertinent, well-timed e-mail is 100x more effective than a constant downpour.
I'm subscribed because I like the birthday coupon, but they all automatically go to my spam folder now. I remember checking one of the "resources we think you'll like" e-mails a couple weeks ago and when I clicked on the book, I already owned. it. And that's happened a few times.
Well said. Of all the services I use (even free ones), Logos, by far, is tops for frequency and quantity in promo emails. It's distasteful … and embarrassing.
hehe… just checked my spam folder… came a few minutes ago..
I already owned it.
This is why these e-mails just get marked as SPAM and deleted.
It's been 5 or 6 years since I completely unsubscribed from all Logos email. This has been an ongoing problem for many years. I'm more than willing to forgo getting a birthday coupon in exchange for not being inundated multiple times a day to buy things I don't want, don't need, or many times: things I already own.
Yep. It's unfortunate to cut off communication with a great company. I 'depend' on the forum for info on sales and books I might like.
My impression is, they test, and find each email makes money. Or its reverse, reducing emails reduces sales. Of course, the tests are short-term. No angry-bears metrics.
What is the birthday code for January?
@Tobias Gerbothe Did you contact CS? Have have the same problem (no newsletter etc.) and they are working on it.
I only get emails when I purchase something or they charge me for something. I have emails turned off in my account, so it is working just as it should 😎
Seems like the birthday thing keeps a lot of people on the spam list. Logos doesn't know when my Birthday is, and I plan to keep it that way …
BTW, there are only two birthday celebrations mentioned in the Bible …
Best not to be a chief baker or see too many platters around.
Hi @Sean! I’m Lauren, and I lead our lifecycle and email experience. Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We know our emails can feel overwhelming, especially when multiple messages land in your inbox in a single day. Our team is actively working on improvements to both the cadence and overall quality, with a strong focus on making our emails more thoughtful, relevant, and valuable. We’d truly hate to see you unsubscribe and hope you’ll stick with us as these improvements roll out.
Most times Logos sends me emails to things that I already own. Several years ago I complained to Bob about it and it stopped for a little while so I know they they can send me emails for things that I do not own. But now we are back to sending me emails for things that I already own. Until you can figure this out I have removed all my subscriptions for Faithlife. I would rather give up my Birthday coupon than get emails for products that I already own.
To be honest, the emails for things I already own are only an irritant because they are part of the 10 to 15 emails a week I used to get from Logos. Being inundated with constant Emails is irritating, and then finding that some of them are for things I already own, just makes the problem worse. I would not mind if every 10th email were for something I already owned if I were only getting 2 or 3 emails a week. However, that has never been the case, so getting 10 to 15 emails a week which includes resources I already own just make the problem MORE irritating.
Having said that, Logos is basically a software company, and culling emails so that no one is sent an email for something they already own should be a very doable thing.
