Ressources for exmaples, stories and quotations that can be searches by Bible references

Hello everyone,

I'm a User of the German Logos and there is the CMV collection of materials a huge help for my sermons because I always find excellent examples and quotes for my sermons. I always search the CMV collection of materials based on the sermon text and am very grateful for it. Unfortunately, there are also sermon texts where I can't find anything in the Bible passages. (I find it tedious to search only by keywords because some terms bring up many things that do not fit the idea of the Bible passage at all).

Hence my question: Is there anything comparable in the English works? Who among you has experience with collections of examples, stories, and quotations that can be searched by Bible references — not by keywords! Which can you recommend?

The illustration section in the Passage guide is by Bible reference. It is also available in topic mode in the Topic guide which is not what you want.

The problem is, the results in the "illustration section" are sometimes horrible. I've tried it right now with my new sermon text from John 13:1-5 but many results have nothing to do with the bible passage.

My opinion agrees with you although many Logos users like them. Unfortunately, that is the only tool Logos offers.

I can make a collection from books with illustration that have bible references. For example "Michael P. Green. 1500 illustrations for biblical preaching."

My question is are there any english books with stories, examples, illustration that have bible references, so that I can search an own collection with these books?

Unfortunately, I tend to look for books indexed by liturgical date or at my own favorites which lack any indices. However, my experience suggests that devotionals are your best shot.

I made a collection of all my illustration resources, most of which are monographs. I thine added this collection to my Passage Guide. When studying a verse it will populate with any illustrations that have that verse mentioned. This along with the Illustrations section already available in the PG provides some really good illustrations to use.
