Why is there a star in this text?

in today's entry in Today in Christian History: Daily Stories:

"The librarian said two similar baskets full had been used to kindle fires.*"

I'm wondering why it's starred. I've checked the beginning of the document, and the end of it, and the end of the day's story itself, but there seems to be nothing.

Anyone have thoughts?

That is a great resource. Forgot all about it. Jessica Parks does good.

Until someone comes up with better, I'd say the star is a little spark of hope or ember from the fire drifting upwards into the crisp winter night sky.

Carmen, My thoughts as to the significance of the asterisk. I think it represents a dead footnote to the text; probably referencing the source of the anecdote.

I find this devotional a worthwhile resource. Many thanks for mentioning it. My license for this and its accompanying resources is temporary. I will check with sales to determine whether I should seek to establish a permanent license.
