The app “Logos” is bias.

I’m doing a study on the doctrine of the Trinity, in doing so I went to the A.I feature found on the app. I searched up “why is the trinity false” and it said “I can't argue that the Trinity is false, but I can explain what critics claim and how defenders respond.”

I did the same thing but for oneness, I asked “why is oneness false” and I gave me this response.

“The case against Oneness theology rests on two foundational problems: the doctrine's inability to account for biblical passages describing Christ's preexistence, and the logical inconsistencies within its own framework.”

It can’t argue about the trinity but it can with oneness? I’m trying to study it on “un-bias” ground, so before I studied it through this app I asked the A.I feature first. Why you might ask? If you know anything about A.I, it relies on what access the “human trainer” gives it. If you only give it one book, then it’s only gonna give you responses from that one book, so in asking those questions you get an idea on what this A.I is being trained on. It can be bias based on the “Human trainers”, that’s a bad wrap for this app, especially knowing you can’t just study without getting bias responses.

Actually, even the major chatbots you have to argue with to get something other than a reformed/evangelical American perspective. It is the result of their working off probabilities with no understanding.

The Trinity is foundational to Christianity. Why would you want a Christian AI to argue against it? You can use the secular AI for that

@Mattillo the trinity isn’t foundational, it’s not found in the Old Testament, neither was it preached in the New. I don’t believe we should “argue” over the Bible, rather discuss it. But I don’t think it was right either that one thing can’t be “argued” about, but another thing can? Also there’s no such thing as a “Christian A.I”

@Mattillo I’d also like to ask, why do you believe the Trinity is foundational? One of the most common reason as to why Jews reject modern day “Christianity” is because they try to separate God. Judaism is a monotheistic religion, anyone with any sort of understanding of the Messiah would understand that He would be God manifested in the Flesh.

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The son given unto us is also, “The Mighty God” and “The Everlasting Father”.

Let me remind everyone that theological debate violates the community guidelines. The purpose of this forum is for discussion of Logos software. Discussing a theological bias is fine, debating the Trinity is for other places.
Logos did publish a course called The Jewish Trinity by Dr. Heiser, defending the idea of the Trinity in the OT.

Logos's perspective as a publisher is designed to be broadly evangelical, and they affirm a statement of faith that is explicitly Trinitarian (II. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.), while presenting other perspectives as a bookseller and platform.

I didn't understand whether the OP is claiming that Logos is biased for or against the doctrine of the Trinity. But thanks for the suggestion "The Jewish Trinity: How the Old Testament Reveals the Christian Godhead." I'm interested in that!

@Justin Gatlin I’m not looking to debate, just looking for answers. I downloaded Logos in hopes of finding more resources, I’m not looking for bias claims on one topic. I’m look at both sides and it’s hard to when the app (logos) clearly supports one side more than the other. I find that hard when it comes to studying.

I must be missing something. Aren't AI answers in Logos dependent only upon the resources it's looking at?

@Lew Worthington yes and no. A.I models trains on what the created or developer gives/allows and through that it gives answers or responses based on those resources it’s given. That’s why it won’t say one thing is wrong but it’ll say it is for another thing.…if the only resources given to the A.I is books, etc, that line up with the beliefs of one person, community, or in this case a app it now becomes a closed circle for studying. You can’t truly study because there might be books or studies that don’t aline with the “beliefs” that logos has so it won’t be used or shown.

You can create a collection of Oneness resources and do a Study Assistant search based on just those resources. That's how I try to study different perspectives.

My point is that AI doesn't make stuff up. It's culling responses from your library (books) or Logos offerings (all).

But critically, I'm not sure how the "all" smart search limits its curation.
