Word study using commentaries only.

Greetings,

I am wondering if it is possible to do a word search or study in my library commentaries.

To be specific, I tried looking up the word "enmity" (Romans 8:7) and can only get the word study from my Bibles. Clicking on all books renders nothing.

I will type Romans 8:7 in the library search and it says I have nothing in my library and suggests that I purchase from the store.

Libronix never had this issue that I can remember

Pretty certain I am doing something wrong and would appreciate any help.

Running Logos 10 48.0.238 premium.

In Logos, I used the search icon (top left next to Library icon), typed in Romans 8:7 and you can see there are no results.

Thanks! That is the "New Tab" page in Logos.

What you want is to click the Search icon (magnifying glass) on the main toolbar.

Select Books.

You can choose Your Books to search all your books, or you can create a collection with just your commentaries.

Will look into collections as you suggested.

I find myself researching how to use logos and watching videos on it, more than actually studying.

@jeff johnson as @Dr. Nathan Parker has said collections are an important way to organize Logos. Another method is to use collections in the Cited By Tool. That way you may refer in the query box to Ro 8.7 to various collections throughout your library. See example below. Notice John Chrysostum has 19 hits other arrows indicate candidate collections:

It will take a little bit of time to learn the program, especially coming from Libronix. Once you learn it though, you'll be able to maximize your study power.

To give you what your looking for now, change your search to look like this. Details underneath.

Make sure it's a books search. This is a basic search. To search bible specifically use the bible search right next to it.
Type in commentary. This will give a list of different options that you can scroll through. Find "Bible Commentary" and click on it. This will limit the search to only those types of books.
Limit the passage to Romans 8:7. This limits the search to only commentaries that have this milestone (milestones are similar to a page number).
Search for the exact word you want to see.

The search results will find enmity in commentaries that comment on Romans 8:7.
