Updated MNTC?

I noticed that the Matthew MNTC is showing that I don't own it, but I bought the entire MNTC collection. Upon further inspection I realized that the Matthew volumes have been re-released as an updated or revised version.

I dug in a little more and found the data from the Title pages but I don't know how to 'read' this data to see what it means. For what it's worth, the MNTC sitting on my shelf matches the ISBN for the Updated or Revised version:

I can't find the link now, but the Matthew commentary update has been discussed at length on the forum. I'm sure that someone will post the link to the thread soon. If not, I'll try to find it later tonight or tomorrow.

I’m in the same situation. I own the entire MNTC collection. But I now see that I need to purchase the updated 4 volumes of Matthew. If you hadn’t brought this up I would not have known there was an update to the material I have a license for. Interesting.

I read the other thread and this whole thing gives me a bad taste in my mouth. If it’s a revised or updated edition then I totally understand charging for a second or updated edition. But… if it’s just correcting errors that are not in the original printed edition, it should be a free upgrade.

it further frustrates me that new people who buy the MNTC won’t know any of this and will just buy the collection and get the old version of Matthew. Why not fix it in the collection to keep new people from being frustrated with their purchase.

Finally, Logos seems to be silent on the issue and that’s the most frustrating part. They clearly know that their original release of Matthew was botched or they wouldn’t be releasing an updated version.

Going forward, what I think Logos should do:

Swap out the revised version and the original version in the store and collection so nobody buys the old version going forward.
Give a free copy of the revised version to everyone who has spoken up, complained, reached out, posted, etc. There are probably less than 20 people who have said something, so it wouldn’t be a big expense.

@Chuck Kelley @Chris G. Hutchings it's not an update, it's a new book. Logos has the same amount of work as publishing the original book. For 30+ years Logos has had the same policy - corrections/reported errors etc. in an existing resource are updated. New books - sold separately.
