Install does not work

I uninstalled the latest beta version and reinstalled Logos. The splash screen now shows version 44.2, but it also says that an update is required.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, running a repair, rebooting my computer, and even restarting Logos while holding down the Control key. Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What version of Windows are you running?

When you refer to uninstalling the latest beta I assume you mean the beta for 50.0 beta 1 - is that the case?

It seems strange that when you tried to reinstall Logos would go back to version 44 instead of 49.

But you may be running across the issue - outlined here - that you can't downgrade from a beta release.

Logos Betas cannot be downgraded to a stable release. You will need to uninstall, delete all Logos folders, then reinstall the stable release if you no longer wish to run a Logos Beta.

You may need to follow those steps and then try again

Hi Graham, thanks for getting back to me

I uninstalled v50 Beta 1 and am currently running Windows 11. After reinstalling Logos, it downgraded to version 49, but it won’t load. For context, I fully uninstalled Logos and deleted all related files before attempting a clean reinstall.

That's really useful information

It would be helpful to see a log from when you are trying to start Logos - details of enabling this are in the article here (towards the bottom of the article there is guidance on enabling logging even when Logos won't start)

If you are able to capture logs, please upload the logos.log file in a reply to this thread.

I opened the Control Panel and clicked on Programs and Features. From there, I right-clicked the Logos Bible Study icon and selected Uninstall.
After that, I navigated to C:\Users<YourName>\AppData\Local\Logos and deleted the Logos folder.
Then I reinstalled Logos Bible Study; it installed correctly and is now running smoothly.
