Why don't we have a 👍 button?

I recall from bug reports about this Community site, a response from Logos that they'd contact the vendor. Is the Community platform vendor willing to customize it at all for Logos?

If not, then forget this; but in case it is so, some feedback: I often find myself seeking the social-media ubiquitous 👍 button to give kudos, but the closest thing this platform currently offers is a ♡ heart symbol, and I almost always think: I appreciate this post, but heart/love? No, not my sentiment. Not clicking that button. It just seems weird. Tonight e.g. rather than click the ♡ button, I decided instead to make a separate 1-line reply to convey my 👍 feeling, and then I thought to suggest/ask:

Any chance the Community platform vendor would be willing to change to (or maybe to avoid contention, add) a 👍 reaction?

I don't want a thumbs-up button……Absent the button, people have to make more effort to communicate - and that is a good thing.

I think the advantage of reaction buttons is the ability to express appreciation for a post without cluttering the thread with each reacting user's individual reply containing only "me too" or "Thanks!" or 👍 (or worse: several users typing their reactions after the thread has moved on, so they need a quote-link to explain to which post they are reacting, thus making it even more busy without adding additional information to the thread).

Oh, a la contrare. The little buttons are largely anonymous to the forum. Posts, even a 'yes!' has far more significance.

Because people don’t know how to use the “like” (👍) button and it’s become useless! It gets used for nothing helpful. Let me illustrate:

Someone writes, “I need help finding this resource.” And then someone instead of giving an answer they just leave a “like” which is useless! And annoying!

So, no, we don’t need a “like” button. It literally serves no purpose. We want to keep social media nonsense away from the forums.

Really, given NichtnurBibelleser's links to posts of almost a year ago that didn't result in any reaction button change, plus my realization that noone can vote on this due to my failure to select the Suggestion post type, I'm realizing that this thread is unlikely to bear fruit.
